Happy New Year’s!

Dec 31, 2008 Filed under: Uncategorized

It’s the one magical day that cell phone companies rejoice, as millions of people all at once overwork satellites in hourly intervals for most of the day to celebrate one special midnight. It really is interesting to think that New Year’s has become the tradition it is. Really, it’s just the passing of one day into the next, but we as a worldwide people have decided to use this annual date of Dec. 31 to drop balls from buildings, launch fireworks into frigid air or get wasted on a weekday f

A Constant State of Failure

Dec 31, 2008 Filed under: Uncategorized

Matt Levenhagen Blog Post (Reprinted with Permission): I dumped about 6 campaigns these last few days. Some were just duds and wasting space (no clicks etc)… others I felt I had spent enough. One I had made a sale early, but then I spent twice the commission to try and make another! Now in the next few days I will replace those 6 with 6 more… all different products and different markets. Out of those 6 hopefully I'll get one winner. I'm in a constant state of failure. BUT the winners stick.

Ever been playing one of the many games available for the iPhone or iPod touch and thought to yourself "Hey, this is fun, but I'd much rather be shooting something right now"? Well think again, because if Cube is anything to go by, it would be frustrating and hard to control.Currently 99th on the iTunes App Store's list of Top Free Apps,...

2008 Review; 2009 Preview

Dec 31, 2008 Filed under: Uncategorized

Hey kids! It’s that time again. A little evaluation of past goals and a little dreaming goal setting for the next run around the sun. I have to say that 2008 brought some surprises for me. And while there were some pretty damn good things that happened this year, (like travel to Italy and boys that both got Sportsman of the Year awards) I’m not at all sorry to see the door hit this one in the arse as it shuffles off into legend. From a purely objective viewpoint, I don’t think I did very well

The year 2008’s coming to an end — and 2009’s coming out of the starting gate real soon. Time for the obligatory review: eight things for ‘08 that we’re not forgetting anytime soon… Too Painful To Forget: Wenchuan When 14:28 came on May 12, 2008, the earth shook virtually like never before in Sichuan. Thousands, and then tens of thousands, died as a magnitude 8.0 quake ripped through Sichuan, causing grief and devastation to the area, and bringing a nation to a virtual standstill a week later

Okay so this whole review process of the past year has been quite tedious. I think MonsterMash40 is the only one that actually paid this any attention besides me (you rule, by the way). I guess that is something you run into when everyone reads your stuff daily anyways! Hehehe, I made myself giggle. I toyed with leaving you hanging for the final third of the year and truthfully I may just phone this one in. So without further ado here is the end of my review of 2008: September saw vacation r

By Ken Stewart of ChangeForge (Twitter/FriendFeed) Nothing feels better than a pat on the back, and LinkedIn makes no exception to this rule! For those not familiar with LinkedIn, it is a professional social platform to share opportunities, ideas and information. Looking at Sourcing from China’s Neighbors, Again Wed Dec 31, 2008 at 10:56 am By Matt When inflation, a strong RMB, and new labor laws were in-vogue complaints for the bitching foreign businessman, many China business pundits said stay the course. Remain faithful to China. Tier 3 is open for business. And logistics are better here than elsewhere. Now that the global financial crisis has hit China, mainland business once again is looking elsewhere, and with good reason. China Economic

Not surprisingly, Allen’s “art of stress-free productivity” has inspired a raft of applications for the iPhone and iPod touch aimed at putting his principles into practice. OmniFocus is sort of the 800-pound gorilla of GTD applications, but instead of revisiting that, I looked at a few simpler tools available at the App Store.

iSmoke App for the iPhone

Dec 30, 2008 Filed under: Uncategorized

Wow, that's a cool app for the iPhone. The new iSmoke simulates the smoke coming out from a cigarette/pipe, and heck, you can even move the smoke around the screen with your finger. To start smoking just blow into your iPhone, like shown in the video below:

These Phenom "SpecialOPS" watch phones definitely look cool, but what bothers me is whether it is possible to operate with a stylus on their 1.3" touchscreen display. Yes, this little screen is actually touch-sensitive...

Web Hosting : Kudos to Cartika

Dec 30, 2008 Filed under: Uncategorized

Hostgator and Bluehost are our best webhosts and godaddy.com is the best domain registrar. This web hosting thread started by esites on 30 December 2008 I would like to take a minute to compliment one of the best reseller hosts that I have had the opportunity to work with. I started a hosting and design service in 2001. I have grown through several reseller hosts (interland, olm, value reseller, high velocity, vortech and now I have found a new home at Cartika. Maybe this is old news, but it’s new to me, or at least the domain is new. China Mobile launched a social network at 139.com. The service is said to be live since September, originally on a domain hard to remember. You don’t need to register to the service as long as you have a mobile phone number (China Mobile number certainly). But currently most of you cannot activate your account unless you are in Guangdong province. Although we haven’t seen inside the service, but a couple of things make

I have enjoyed working with my account at Web Video University that Dave Kaminiski was kind enough to set up for me to review.  It’s a really solid course and a great one to check out if you are either an affiliate who is looking to make compelling video to market your merchants, or a merchant who is looking to either provide top quality promotional video creative to your affiliates or are looking for a resource to recommend to your affiliates. I’ll be having Dave on for a podcast early on in

Having gone through the grief of hurriedly re-hosting this blog, now, perhaps, is the time to explain just what happened. Just briefly, I’d like to offer thanks to DK who stepped in and sorted out hosting for this blog – and spent a considerable amount of time sorting out the little matter of importing four year’s worth of archives. In the process we lost the last post – but as that was only a holding notice, it’s a minor loss – although thanks to the two people who left encouraging comments.

I'll discuss events that happened in 2008. Phone lines are open for you to share your thoughts as well.

Maybe you recall seeing drivers education footage showing what not to do behind the wheel. Often such lessons start as fun, with a clownish actor frantically shaving, eating, consulting maps and even reading a book while doing a lousy job of driving a car. But even with a sobering punchline about car accidents, the real joke is on all of us, now that texting while driving has entered the equation. A recent survey for Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. reveals that 19 per cent of motorists admit t

This post is a promised follow-up to my recent post Why are Advertisers Embarrassed by Advertising?. Recently KGMB9 implemented the WOMF service. The Daily Mail Online had a great story that I just had to mention to the IntoMobile readership - they’ve calculated the exact time on Christmas Day when people get most frustrated by their techie pressies - apparently that time is 11.48am. The result was from a study that a tech support helpline (The TechGuys) did in the UK, where it checked when it received most calls. Of course, the other interesting stat to know would be HOW MANY calls were logged at this time - I’d imagine it could be a

That's a case where the priorities of law school actually hurt your chances in the real world. Everything else was the routine sort of on-the-job stuff that's really hard to teach in school.
