What’s this? Sony Ericsson, a champion of the UIQ mobile OS, has apparently seen the last days of the Symbian-based OS. Sony Ericsson’s Patrick Olsen said at the Symbian Smartphone Show that his company’s mobile OS of choice just “didn’t make it.” Olsen didn’t elaborate on the timeline for phasing out UIQ from Sony Ericsson’s product lineup, but it sounds like UIQ might just fade off into the history books once the code-base is integrated into the Symbian Foundation’s open-source Symbian code-b

Apparently Sony Ericsson has a big plan to grab the music phone users next year. Yeah, now they are working on a new walkman phone called Twiggy. We don’t have its picture (even the leaked-blurry one) yet, but noticed that the upcoming walkman phone will replace the well-know Walkman flip-phone W350 (see the picture as below).

Twiggy has flip design, too, but offers more high-quality features than predecessor: 240×320 screen, Walkman player 3.0, 3.2-Mp camera. The music phone has only 2 colours (we knew that W350 has 4 colours). According to SEMC Blog, Twiggy will be released at the beginning of Q2, 2009.

This is one of the most common questions that mobile phone users ask nowadays. This is because you will rarely find a mobile phone which has outstanding features on both counts. It can either be a really good music phone, with average camera functionality. Or, it can be a really great camera phone, with the music player th
