We've had Sony Ericsson's W380i strapped to our heads for a fair while now and while it's not quite as inveigling as Jaffa Cakes, it's given us numerous happy times. In fact, as clamshells go, it's pretty snazzy. True, it's a music phone that needs an adaptor just to use normal headphones, but it's still more enjoyable to use than, say, something like the Nokia N95, which sports a native 3.5mm adaptor.

A new Sony Ericsson model with a codename Emelie will be officially announced tomorrow, according to se-nse blog. The Emelie will be called G502, it is a GSM tri-band phone in candy bar design.

se_g502_new

The Sony Ericsson G502 is a compact but features pack model. With the built in support of HSDPA Microsoft Exchange and Google Maps, business users will love to have another candy bar phone for their on-the-road usage. Other features include the 2-inch TFT screen with 240 x 320 resolution, pre-installed Accesss NetFront web browser, 2 megapixel camera, bluetooth and memory stick micro card slot.

The model will be available in Brilliant Hazel & Champagne Black color and to be released to the retail market in Q2 this year.

Weighing at 99 grams, the Sony Ericsson G900 comes to make its mark in the world of mobile phones!

You may have already read quite a few of our posts on the upcoming Sony Ericsson P5, 2 new leaked photos are available today which shows the main menu of the phone running UIQ 3.3 as well as the keyboard layout.

se-p5-esato-1

What we have knew is the device will be powered by UIQ 3.3, come with a secondary video call camera, GPS, 5 megapixel camera, WiFi, bluetooth and 3G connection. The keyboard will be similar to M600, which has 2 characters on a key. It looks like the shortcut button around the D-pad is using  touch sensor like W960 walkman phones. (you can have a clearer view from second photo below with higher contrast)

Sony Ericsson W890 review

Apr 20, 2008 Filed under: Sony Ericsson

Sony Ericsson W890 is a successor of the W880, which was the first slim Walkman phone from Sony. The two phones are almost identical in size; the W890 has a slightly bigger display (2” as compared to the 1.9” of W880), a better keypad with wider keys (seeing how not everyone liked the narrow ones of W880), and a 3.2 Megapixel built-in camera (compared to the 2 Mpx of it’s predecessor). The case is fully metallic, unlike the one of W880 which had the sides of the back panel made from ‘soft-tou

Today I decided to walk to the local Subway (Eat Fresh) to pick up myself a tasty 12 inch sub for my dinner and since the weather was decent I thought I would take my new Sony Ericsson W580i and test out the 2.0 Mega Pixel camera that is built into it. Now I am not expecting the greatest in quality for a 2.0 MP camera phone but it will definitely perform better than the VGA (640×480) resolution that my Motorola Razr had. I would also like to say that I have yet to see a camera phone out perfor

Mobile-review have posted their review of the Sony Ericsson Z770. Here is the final impression. Impressions The Z770i’s ring tones volume was never an issue – its speaker fared well in most environments. The reception quality was nothing to complain about either. Our only gripe is with the phone’s vibro alert, which occasionally proves to be on the weak side. The handset is set to debut this April around the 480-550 USD price point (300 Euro in Europe) – for this money the user gets an inter

The Sony Ericsson blog has got the press picture of the upcoming Sony Ericsson Z780. With minimum changes, the Z780 is said to have a better design than its predecessor Z770i. You can find another side by side comparison picture below.

Rumor: Sony Ericsson Z780i?

Apr 15, 2008 Filed under: Sony Ericsson

Thumbnail images of a new Sony Ericsson Z780i have been reported by semcblog today. With an addtional evidence of the Z780 device profile on Sony Ericsson company website, the Z780 should be announced soon.

se-z780-1

From the little thumbnails we can see there are only some minor changes on the design compare to Sony Ericsson Z770. The external LCD screen at front panel is a bit more squarish, the back cover is also different with Sony Ericsson logo at the bottom.

While minimal information is available at the moment, some suggests that the Z780 will support video calls with its HSDPA connection.

Sony Ericsson C702 Preview

Apr 12, 2008 Filed under: Sony Ericsson

C is for Camera. That is the main idea of one of the new phone line announced by Sony Ericsson this year. Like the G-series, the first two models presented are positioned in the high and middle class. Subject to this preview is the youthful C702, equipped with a 3.2-megapixel Cyber-shot camera with autofocus and GPS. On top of that, it is resistant to dust and humidity. Currently, all versions (globally) of the phone are prototypes and that’s why we are previewing it instead of giving you an i

sony ericsson w61s

Sony Ericsson’s new 5.1 megapixel camera has added a 3X optical zoom and a “smile shutter” to older 5 megapixel models. While SE’s W61S is only playing catch up to Samsung, which has already announced one iteration of its G800 5MP camera phone with 3X digital zoom, the W61S lens is special. It’s an “Exmor” CMOS matrix, the same sensor technology used in Sony’s Alpha DSLR. This is a CDM/Ev-Do phone, unfortunately for non-U.S. users. It has GPS that supposedly can be used with the camera function and Bluetooth and video out. No word on pricing but this phone isn’t going to come cheap.

Sony Ericsson W800

If you are familiar and have been enamored with the Sony Ericsson K750 then the W800 will have your pulses pumping even more. It is one of the most eagerly awaited releases from the Japanese-Swedish company, and the whole mobile phone industry in general.

And like the K750, the W800 has brilliant function menus, a very able camera and great sounding earphones that come bundled with the phone itself. And rightly so as this unit has the “W” Walkman logo and for all of us who are serious about music know that the name Walkman is the benchmark upon which every brand tries to live up to. And the good news is that the W800 is not expected to reach astronomical price (more...)

Sony Ericsson Paris

Apr 6, 2008 Filed under: Sony Ericsson

Sony Ericsson ParisThe Sony Ericsson Paris is all the rage right now. The Sony Ericsson Paris is just a rumor right now, but basically it’s got a load of features that may give the Xperia X1 a run for it’s money. Good things must be happening over in Sony Ericsson’s labs.

“The Sony Ericsson Paris will sport a touchscreen display (capacitive, it seems), a semi-QWERTY keypad in the same vein as the M600 and P1, WiFi, 3G (maybe in a global flavor for once?), GPS, and preinstalled Google Maps, all sitting atop UIQ 3.3.”

As you can see, the Sony Ericsson Paris (if it’s actually real) is quite a nice-featured handset. Of course, no word yet on a release date or price for the Sony Ericsson Paris.

Paris P5 UIQ

The Paris P5 is a UIQ smartphone with a slide-out keypad (perhaps QWERTY) and a D-pad button at the front. The phone could have a VGA-quality screen, WiFi and a 5 megapixel camera - the highest spec Sony Ericsson phone we know about. It’s definitely a major phone from Sony Ericsson with a better form factor than the XPERIA X1, which looks more like a business model.

Like the XPERIA X1, the P5 will have GPS. The pre-installed software includes Google Map and Wayfinder. UIQ touchscreen phones have given users one of the best GUI experiences in a touchscreen phone. Hopefully, the UIQ 3.3 is good enough in the post-iPhone mobile market.
