PhoneMag reviews the Sprint Samsung Ace: “The Sprint Samsung Ace runs on the fast EVDO Rev. 0 and 1XRTT network. Unfortunately it does not support Rev. A and while roaming abroad you’re only getting GPRS. It’s a candy bar form factor with a decent size QWERTY keyboard and internal antenna; 5-way navigation button and thumb wheel for one-handed operation. Other features of the Sprint Samsung Ace include Bluetooth 2.0; push e-mail capabilities, and good call quality. International voice and data capabilities allows for you to globetrot around the world and stay connected wherever Sprint has roaming agreements.
Here’s the bottom line, if you’re on the Sprint network and need or want a QWERTY keyboard smartphone that’s running Windows Mobile, combined with the flexibility of roaming internationally on a GSM/GPRS network, then the Sprint Samsung Ace is the perfect handset for you.”

Here is a look at the new TouchWiz user interface coming from Samsung. The TouchWiz will be used by the new Samsung F480 and F490, which will eventually replace the Samsung Croix interface.
Samsung has unveiled a new GUI for its touch screen phones and Samsung is offering it first on the F480, which is an improved iteration of the Samsung Armani phone.
The new Samsung UI has a highly customizable home page. You ca drag around widgets, which is pretty neat with the additional benefit of helping you avoid creen clutter. I also like the widget dock which you can bring up on screen via an arrow. Unfortunately, the UI does not have room for a virtual QWERTY keyboard but, reall, the T9 predictive text software is just as usable for texting.
One possible improvement Samsung could work on in their future touch screen phones is on the screen size. A bigger 3.5 or 4-inch screen and the addition of a QWERTY interface will make this UI a true delight to use.

Its design utilizes the smooth operating clamshell type blueprint with dual screens (OLED and TFT) which exudes femininity and modern metropolitan chic. The OLED display works as an external screen to allow quick viewing of information when the clamshell is closed. Once opened, the internal screen of 1.9 inches with up to 65k colors is revealed in all its 176 x 220 pixel glory. I’m guessing the clamshell body would be a definite hit among the female consumers as they can easily drop their mobile phones inside their purses or handbags among other things, without the need to purchase additional protective shells or silicone cases to keep their phones from getting nicked or scratched.
The L320’s small size alone obviously takes its cue from the female (more…)
