Samsung a437

Mar 6, 2008 Filed under: Samsung

Here is a Samsung a437 review based on an analysis of key features. Not to be considered a hands-on Samsung a437 review.

Fido fido nokia6555 samsung E747Fido have added two mid-range phones in their lineup. If you’re looking for a well-featured handset that will not break the bank, the Nokia 6555 clamshell and Samsung SGH-E747 slider are good bets at $75 each with a three-year contract with Fido.

We have a rather mixed set of user reviews at our reader reviews section on the the 6555. You might want to check them out before you decide. And here is our model page for the 6555. You’ll find a user’s manual (hope it’s up) and the complete specifications of the model. In short, the 6555 is a quadband GSM phone with EDGE connectivity and a 1.3 megapixel camera. The external screen displays an old-fashioned clock, a nice legant touch for this clamshell.

The SGH-E747 has 2 megapixels instead of a 1.3 MP for its camera. Both phones’ camera support video capture and both work anywhere in the globe.

Samsung Adidas F110 Fitness Cell PhoneThe Samsung Adidas F110 Fitness cell phone is said to be launching next month in the UK. The Samsung Adidas F110 has been rumored about for a long time now, so it’s about time we have a confirmation.

A few specs from the Samsung Adidas F110 handset: heartbeat monitor and step counter, it also boasts a built-in MP3 player / FM tuner, two-inch LCD and a two-megapixel camera. And lastly, it boasts a 1GB memory card for your music, etc. Not too shabby! Hopefully these handsets will be coming to North America - and if it’s a success in the UK, I’m sure they will be.

Samsung G400, a Folder Soul

Mar 5, 2008 Filed under: Samsung

Samsung G400 CeBIT - Samsung introduced a Soul phone for clamshell lovers, the G400, which is an HSDPA-connected handset with a 2.22-inch external touchscreen for that classy technological touch we call state-of-the-art. Like its slider brother, the G400 is high-end on just about every feature. The 5 megapixel camera besides the image stabilizer and Wide Dynamic Range (WDR), has automatic face detection for great portrait shots even when you have not brought your camera.

This phone is heading for Europe in June. No word on the price but as a high-end multimedia phone, don’t expect this one to be cheap.

AT&T Samsung BlackJack IIIf you own an AT&T BlackJack II, you probably know that you have a limited ringtone selection for the phone. There’s now a hack to allow you put any size MP3 ringtone on your BlackJack II, not just songs under 300KB.

How To Put Any Size MP3 Ringtones On AT&T BlackJack II

  • Save your MP3 to your AT&T Samsung BlackJack II’s memory (I like to put my files in “My Documents”).
  • Use your BJ2’s “My Stuff” file explorer (there is the standard Windows Mobile File Explorer and the “My Stuff” file explorer - use the latter) to navigate to your MP3 file.
  • Highlight your MP3, hit “Menu” and set that MP3 as your ringtone.
  • The “My Stuff” browser will ask you if you want to move the file to your “My Sounds” folder - do it. The file gets copied, not moved, to “My Sounds” so your original MP3 file is still chillin’ in the “My Documents” folder.
  • Now to edit the registry to nix that 300KB file size limit:
    • Go into HKEY_Current User ? ControlPanel ? Sounds
    • Delete the key of FileSizeLimit
  • That’s all there is to it! You should be able to set any sized MP3 as your ringtone now.

    Samsung J750

It was only last October 2007 when Samsung released their sleek, streamlined model – the Samsung J750, and already the phone has garnered a lot of favorable raves and reviews. And it is only fair as there is a lot to love with Samsung's little number. First thing one notices, for obvious reasons, is the J750's wonderful and brilliant design.

Though effective simplicity is key with this unit, it is however edgy with the curves in all the right places. And the slider mechanism does wonders, especially when sliding it open to reveal the innovative keypad design. But never let its looks fool you, for what your eyes see in the J750 is nothing compared to what it can do to your senses. This unassuming little phone is teeming with functionality and features that the user would surely love. Samsung definitely knew what it was doing when they conceptualized the J750. But as always, a concept (more...)

Samsung's SGH-i200 smartphone. It has 3G connectivity with Windows Mobile 6.0 Standard, and is supposedly aiming at the cheapish smartphone market by costing around $290. On the upside, you still get a plethora of GSM standards all the way up to HSDPA, there's a 2 megapixel cam around back, and a
