Reviews on the latest and best mobile phones on the market.
The Samsung MyShot is on it’s way. The Samsung MyShot is a simple tri-band CDMA clamshell phone for the pay-as-you-go carrier. It features 262k STN display, 1.3 Megapixel Camera, Bluetooth 2.0, Organizer and Speakerphone.
So, the Samsung MyShot for Cricket & MetroPCS won’t be anything spectacular, but it’s got all the basics covered and even adds a few higher end features. It’s a nice mid-range handset if you aren’t into the candybar or slider phones.
Pricing and exact release date for the Samsung MyShot are currently unknown, but it should be available very soon. Check back soon for more details.

The MetroPCS Samsung Spex SCH-r210 will be available soon. The MetroPCS Samsung Spex is a very basic candybar style phone. There’s not a lot of specs available right now, but it’s said to have: dual-band CDMA plus 1700 MHz AWS, a 128 x 128 screen, text messaging.
The MetroPCS Samsung Spex SCH-r210 won’t be for those who want it all, but will work for those who only want to use the phone for talking. Obviously, since this handset is not feature-packed, it will come at a nice price - possibly even free on contract. No word on a release date for the MetroPCS Samsung Spex, but it should be very soon.
T-Mobile Samsung SGH-T229 is an upcoming phone. The T-Mobile Samsung SGH-T229 is a pretty basic clamshell style cell phone. While it won’t be loaded down with features, it should definitely have the basics: Bluetooth, speakerphone, two color displays, camera, etc.
The T-Mobile Samsung SGH-T229 will most likely be released with the T339. Both models are very basic, and will be on T-Mobile’s lower end line - possibly free after rebates and 2 year agreement. The casing of the T-Mobile Samsung SGH-T229 looks pretty cheap, but what else can you expect from a lower end handset? No word yet on pricing, release date or specs - check back soon for more details.

I think the best thing going for the new T-Mobile Samsung SGH-T339 is it’s design. The handset has a slim Razr-like look to it, although you should expect a pretty cheap plastic casing - not metal. After all, this isn’t a high-end phone. No word yet on pricing, release date or specs for the T-Mobile Samsung SGH-T339, so check back soon for details.

March 24, 2008- Coming soon from Samsung: the Samsung DuoS P240 candybar phone. This new phone will be the protégé of the previously released Samsung Duo D880. The D880 was a great phone with exciting features, however, the price was a bit steep. At $700, there was a large range of the dual SIM market that was left out of the customer pool. Now, this newer version with a price 20 - 30% less, more of the market will be included. The more affordable price will allow more users to purchase the phone and take advantage of its awesome functions and capabilities.

Cnet reviews the Samsung SGH-i450: “The Samsung SGH-i450 breaks the company’s slim and silver design. Yes, it’s a slider phone, but it’s somewhat hefty (3.98 inches by 2.05 inches by 0.71 inch; 3.69 ounces) and it sports an eye-catching blue and white color scheme. It’s certainly a nice change and it befits the phone’s multimedia prowess. As we said earlier, the Samsung SGH-i450 has a dual-slider design that’s similar to the Nokia N95. If you slide the front face up, you’ll expose the numeric keypad. If you slide it down, you’ll see the unique music touch control.
The good: The Samsung SGH-i450 has an attractive design with a bright display. Its music player has an easy-to-use interface and ergonomic controls, and its call and music quality was quite good.
The bad: The phone has flat navigation controls and keypad buttons. Also, its camera took poor photos.
The bottom line: It can’t pass muster as a camera phone, but as a quality music handset the Samsung SGH-i450 more than holds its own.”

PhoneArena reviews the Verizon Samsung SCH-U550: “The Verizon Samsung SCH-U550 is a better phone overall than the LG VX8350. Both the call quality and reception were excellent, and equal to that of phones costing much more. Not to mention that U550 has a better build quality and overall feels more durable than the VX8350. We also like the color scheme more than the Gleam, since its not as shiny, but it does give up a few extra features. We highly recommend the Verizon Samsung SCH-U550 for anyone that is looking for a no frills cell phone, while staying on a budget, and without sacrificing call quality.”

March 21, 2008- Samsung is now introducing their newest design that features a sleek and tiny new look. This new design is the world’s thinnest of its kind coming in at 28 mm x 15.3 mm x 8.5 mm. This 8 mega pixel CMOS was made exclusively for use in camera phones. With a 1600 ISO, this type of camera should far out perform other camera phones even in low light conditions.

Alltel Wireless announced today that the Samsung Muse is now available in Alltel Wireless retail stores. The Samsung Muse enables music lovers to always have their favorite music tunes within reach.
PhoneScoop user reviews the Alltel Samsung Muse: “The Alltel Samsung Muse is great. It was given to me as a concession line at work. I really enjoy the fact that it is a nice streamline phone but it has a bit of weight to it so it feels like a real phone. The only issue I have with the Alltel Samsung Muse is:
Fingerprints! I have to keep a leather case on, and I have trouble texting as fast as I usually can when it is off.
The ringtones sound Great on the Alltel Samsung Muse but the songs from the music player get a bit distorted when the volume is up all the way…but it is minimal.
For a 2.0 Mega Pixel camera the quality could be a bit better…however it works sufficient for how often I take pictures.”
