The alarm Philips is actually a digital photo frame with several digital photo frames, so to speak. It has five 1.5-inch displays built in that can display photos on each to a resolution of 128 x 128 pixels. These images can be rotated in a slideshow. As images showing the awakening of a timetable and can record voice messages left for your family to listen to a later date.
Like an alarm clock, it must be bad job of letting you know that it is time to wake up. Instead a sudden noise bombardment, the clock wakes you gradually by the music on an FM radio station or regular beeps.

The upcoming Philips X800 all-touchscreen has already passed the FCC and is nearing its launch. Overall, its features are pretty decent, but the lack of 3G, Wi-Fi and even EDGE connectivity is a deal breaker for most users, including me. But if they make the phone cheap, you kn...

One possible iPhone killer is the Xenium X800 fro Philips. It’s a touch screen phone that boasts edge-to-edge display, or e2e. As the name implies, the screen takes up the entire front of the cellphone… from one edge of the casing to the other. From the FCC photo above, e2e does not seem all that different from regular touchscreen phone with prominent displays. The iPhone, for instance, seems to have similar screen to casing ratio as the X800. Although, there seems to be some sort of transparent protector over the X800 face that indeed goes from edge to edge.
Details revealed at the FCC includes 2MP camera, Bluetooth, Fm radio and a 10-hour talk time.

More details of the Philips X800 touch screen phone is now available at FCC document list today. Early of this month the report said that this X800 will feature e2e design, meaning a full edge to edge touch screen design that will occupy the whole width on the front body. Though you can’t really see how they apply that to the phone in the FCC picture.

The Philips X800 features a full touch screen for you to navigate through lists and menus. The touch screen is operated with a stylus pen located at the side of the phone. Use the stylus pen to tap once or twice on any available screen zone to carry out the corresponding operations (such as menu page header, menu items, lists, softkeys, options menu, function keys, text input area, selection area, pull-down menu box, selection box, etc).

The user manual also reveals its battery life. As stated in the rumor, the X800 has a long battery life. You can make phone calls continuously for 10 hours, or have the phone in standby mode up to 1 month. The battery can be easily filled up in 2.5 hours ...

Philips has been on the innovation path as far as the cellphone industry is concerned. We don’t know if previous Xenum phones (the 9@9 long-life series) and the AAA-batteries-compatible Philips NRG are popular to consumers but it’s almost a foregone conclusion that the Xenum 800 will become a big hit in every shores it manages to reach. For the time being, we know the phone has WiFi, runs on some unknown mobile operating system and will have the best screen-to-casing ration in the industry. Good luck to Philips.

Will full touch screen phone become the main stream of mobile phone design? Philips is going to announce their new touch screen phone Xenium X800 in China next month, according to a report on PC World China. The touch screen phone featuring a e2e design, meaning a full edge to edge touch screen design that will occupy the whole width on the front body.

Other than a good WQVGA big screen, Philips has continue to implement their long battery life feature on this X800. We have no idea how they test their battery life though, it is said to give you a full 1 month standby time, or close to 10 hours continuous talk time!

As the mobile phone industry churns out new handsets every day, the opportunities to distance a product from the massive pack can seem infinitesimal. For that reason Philips deserves some credit for trying some new tricks on the Chinese market.
Its latest offering, the M600, attempts to capitalize ...
Philips has been making shallow waves in the cellphone industry but making it to the big time is going slow for the Dutch manufacturer. The M600 is a candybar phone with mid-range features and a Chinese price tag. China is the world’s largest handset market and if Philips can make it in China, perhaps the rest of the world will follow. Hopefully, the M600 name, formerly of Sony Ericsson, will just have enough pizazz for the Chinese.
Philips M600, admittedly, is a pretty phone. It has a 2-inch screen, built-in 1.3 MP camera, Bluetooth A2DP and Java MIDP 2.0 support. Not bad at all for the Chinese market.

Late last year Philips made headlines with a Xenium 9@9 phone that could last for two months on standby, and the handset has another new trick in its latest version--a touch screen.
When the Xenium 9@9v makes its way to Asia next month, it will ...

We have all heard of Philips, but did you know that now they are producing cellular phones? The best thing about these new phones is the amazing battery life. The first phone they produced, Xenium 9@9 a/d/t phones, could even stay on standby for over a month! The next model, Xenium 9@9k, extended the standby to two months. Philips is offering us the newest and best in battery and handset battery life innovations.

Announced in March 2007 last year, BackuPower provides users with a remarkably simple solution for instantly recharging their phones: by inserting any type of standard sized AAA battery -- alkaline or NiMH rechargeable -- in the phone's easily accessible cavity. The new Philips Xenium 9@9j has extended power provided by Techtium's BackuPower, it will be available in April this year.

Here's an interesting piece, a new AAA-powered cell phone from Philips, codenamed 9@9j (can you read it?).
Actually, it uses a standard lithium ion battery, but comes with an additional AAA to provide up to 3 hour...

Finally a phone that will not explode. Dutch manufacturer Philips has begun production on their AAA battery-powered Xenium NRG cell phone. The technology is Israeli-sourced called Backupower. The only downside is that lithium battery is still used as the primary source. No word on whether AAAs can serve as the sole power source. We doubt that based on Moti Puran, Manager OEM Europe, puts it this way:
“It has a standard lithium ion rechargeable battery, but it has the option to put a AAA battery in, and it’ll give you three hours extra talktime. If your lithium ion battery goes dead, the backup battery kicks in, and starts to charge the lithium ion battery, so you can start using the phone straight away.”
With an Energizer brand AAA batteries could give you 3 hours on this phone. And oh, there’s a slight name change. It will not be the Xenium NRG but the Xenium 9@9j. No idea how to pronounce yet.
