Palm Treo 700p is reviewed by kleinr15 at Amazon on Sun, February 17, 2008
Average rating: 2/10.
I have owned 5 different Palm models, including the Treo 600 and 700p. My main reason for staying with Palm was the simplicity and logical design of the device and the fact that I wanted a PDA/phone/text/camera ...
While Palm Centro is rumored to be released to AT&T network next week, Boy Genius Report has posted an unboxing gallery of the device. The AT&T branded Palm Centro has a slightly different color scheme, with a green color number pad on the QWERTY keyboard. According to the recent rumor it will be sold at $99.

AT&T plans to release the Palm Centro phone on February 19th.
The price is not confirmed yet, but we expect $99 with a 2-year contract. Just to remind you, the Palm Centro is an ugly and pretty lo...

The AT&T Palm Centro will apparently get a partially green keypad. I’m not quite sure why they decided to change up the keypad like this - to me it looks rather strange. But, if this new white AT&T Palm Centro with green keypad is your thing it will soon be available for $99.
Just as a reminder, the white AT&T Palm Centro will feature: Push-to-talk support, Palm’s OS and will have touch-display. Its QWERTY is reported to be as good as those of Treos. The white AT&T Palm Centro will also features 1.3-megapixel camera, support EV-DO and of course come with that strange green keypad.
The White AT&T Palm Centro looks to be going on sale soon. Recent tipsters are telling us that the white AT&T Palm Centro should be available by February 19th. Previously, we had heard it would come before April, so this would make perfect sense.
The white AT&T Palm Centro is a very nice little handset, already selling spectacularly on Sprint’s network. The handset is a perfect choice for those of you wanting some high-end features for only $99. If you’d like a little more info on the handset click on over to the Palm Centro review.

Palm at GSMA
(Credit: CNET Networks)There's a lot of Windows Mobile and Symbian news at GSMA Mobile World Congress, but things have been pretty quiet in Palm-land. Still, the company is here at the show, and there was a wee bit news. First, a GSM version of the ...

The White AT&T Palm Centro should be arriving shortly. According to new info, the white AT&T Palm Centro will be available before April 7th - most likely a few weeks before then.
The new White AT&T Palm Centro will be almost identical to the already released Sprint version. As a reminder, some of the features are: Push-to-talk support, Palm’s OS and will have touch-display. Its QWERTY is reported to be as good as those of Treos. The white AT&T Palm Centro will also features 1.3-megapixel camera and support EV-DO.
AT&T is gearing up to get the White Palm Centro, SMT5700, Motorola Z9 slider and Sony Ericsson Z750 in pink, gray and purple. The new phones should be available before April 7th, as this comes from AT&T’s pricing schedule.
The White Palm Centro, AT&T SMT5700, Motorola Z9 and Sony Ericsson Z750 will not be accompanied by the LG VU or Samsung Access - apparently. This is rather sad news, as it looks like AT&T will be pushing back their mobile TV, MediaFLO.
The Sprint Palm Treo 755p firmware update is now available for download. The Treo 755p firmware update will improve the unit’s audio, stability and software quality - along with a few other things. This sounds great, but be sure to leave enough time to download the Sprint Palm Treo 755p firmware update - it takes up to 45 minutes!
EngadgetMobile has more: “Unfortunately, Palm’s being extraordinarily vague about the goodies contained deep within this particular binary; they simply call the Sprint Palm Treo 755p firmware update a “tune-up” that improves “audio, stability, software quality and device usability.” Sounds good to us.”
PCMag reviews the Verizon Wireless Treo 755p: “The Verizon Wireless Treo 755p looks good. The 2.3-by-4.4-by-0.8-inch (HWD) rubberized body is comfortable to hold in your hand and against your ear. The new Azure Green color flatters the design, though in most indoor lighting it appears grayish. At 5.6 ounces, it could stand to lose about an ounce and a half of dead weight. But like the 680, the Verizon Wireless Treo 755p is still a bit slimmer than 2006-era Treos and lacks the hard plastic external antenna. It includes a hardware ringer switch and a convenient, automatic keyboard lock—two features that belong on every slab smartphone—and it’s simple to use one-handed for basic tasks.
I suppose the Verizon Wireless Treo 755p is a useful upgrade for older Treo owners, particularly if they don’t want to switch operating systems or purge a heavy investment in third-party apps. Otherwise, Verizon customers not particularly committed to Palm OS should take a long, hard look at some other smartphones before choosing this museum piece.”

The T-Mobile Palm Centro is rumored to be available soon. The T-Mobile Palm Centro would make sense seeing as Sprint has seen brisk sales of the handset and now their exclusivity deal with Palm is coming to an end. AT&T has also been rumored to be getting the Palm Centro, so maybe we’ll see all three of the major carriers getting this great handset.
If the T-Mobile Palm Centro turns out to be true, you can bet it’ll be a huge hit, as was Sprint’s version. The handset is cheap, small and feature-packed.

The Sprint Palm Treo 800w has been in the pipes for quite some time now, but we’re slowly getting more and more info about it. Apparently, a tipster leaked more info about the Sprint Palm Treo 800w’s specs and even took a grainy photo of the handset (at left).
EngadgetMobile has more on the Sprint Palm Treo 800w: “the new Windows Mobile 6-based Palm phone will be Centro-thin, trade the old proprietary HotSync connector for a mini-USB jack, has a dedicated hardware switch for turning WiFi on and off, will sport EV-DO Rev. A, Bluetooth 2.0, as well as 802.11g, and utilizes microSD cards in addition to its 256MB of memory. The article also says that the 2-megapixel camera takes “decent” pictures, and there is an additional 128MB of memory for something else.”

You can now get Google’s My Location functionality for your Palm Treo 600, 650 or 680 handset (GSM Treos). The Palm Treo My Location app download is free, but ad driven.
EngadgetMobile has more: “Piggybacking on top of the Google Maps app, My Location performs the same feats of mystery, intrigue, and cell tower triangulation that most other platforms are already enjoying and there’s no need to wait for Palm to get it in a pile to do so. The Google My Location program is free but ad driven, so if you want to do away with the location-based adds, you’ll need to cough up $10 or more to end your suffering.”

If you are using a Palm smartphone and Windows Vista, Palm has finally released a new Palm Desktop 6.2 compatible with the Vista. 64-bit Editions of Windows Vista is still not supported though.

The AT&T Palm Centro pictured at left looks pretty legit. For now, the AT&T Palm Centro is still a rumor and this picture could be PhotoShopped, however, Sprint’s exclusivity agreement with the Centro is about to end, making this photo very likely to be the real deal.
The AT&T Palm Centro is expected to be almost identical in features to the Sprint version, including: Palm’s OS and will have touch-display. Its QWERTY is reported to be as good as those of Treos. The Palm Centro features 1.3-megapixel camera, supports EV-DO.
PalmInfo reviews the Verizon Palm Treo 755p: “The Verizon Palm Treo 755p offers very little new in terms of technology and design, yet it remains one the most powerful and easy to use smartphones available. The Palm Treo 755p is a nice minor update from the 700p, but as a power user I wish more had been done to improve the software and overall user experience. Nevertheless, the Verizon Palm Treo 755p is a good choice for people looking for a productive mobile device, as it continues to offer Palms blend of an excellent user experience with the ease of use and software choice the Palm OS platform provides.”

A Pink Palm Centro (Sprint) is rumored to be in the works. SprintUsers forum member TheRobin recently posted the pretty Pink Palm Centro picture on the site. Sure, we’ve already got the red version, but the new color may turn out to be as big of hit as the original.
The Pink Palm Centro for Sprint has been rumored in the past, and is supposed to be available on January or February of 2008. I guess if these rumors turn out to be false, we’ll know pretty soon.
