The Palm Centro is one of the very few smartphones that can fit in your pocket and still deliver quality power features. However, it has a few minor drawbacks.

For all the crap Palm gets about its lack of innovation, it's still got a pretty loyal fanbase so we imagine some of you will be interested in this tidbit. There are various stories around the blogosphere about a new Windows-based Treo, codenamed "Zeppelin" ...
The Sprint Palm Treo 800w will be here soon. The Sprint Palm Treo 800w is the new and improved 700w, but basically keeps the same, typical Palm look. The new handset is scheduled to arrive on July 22nd - although it’ll have some steep competition from the new HTC’s set to release around that time as well.
The Sprint Palm Treo 800w features include: Windows Mobile 6.1, EV-DO Rev. A, GPS, a 320 x 320 touchscreen, and a typical Treo look. So, if you’re into smartphones, the Sprint Palm Treo 800w is definitely worth looking at. Although, you may just opt for one of the new HTC’s or the Samsung Instinct - all of which pack some impressive features.
Here comes the Palm Zeppelin! To be called Treo 800w, it is a windows mobile smartphone for CDMA network. It should available for Sprint network this year and you should also see another Palm device called Palm Skywriter this year (probably for GSM network?)
Information on the spes is not available at the moment but it is confirmed that the smartphone use a microUSB connector. The Trep 800w design follows the old traditional Treo series smartphones, it might be the first Palm smartphone that comes with built in WiFi and GPS capability.

The Palm Treo 800w is almost here. The Palm Treo 800w is on track to be available on Sprint’s network in the very near future. Recent speed tests were run for the new phone and found that it ran at 475kbps. That’s not super fast, but not horrible either.
Other features expected to be on the Palm Treo 800w are: Windows Mobile 6.1 with IE 7.11, EVDO Rev. A, 320×320 display, WiFi, a-GPS & camera / no camera versions. There’s no word on pricing or exact release date for the Palm Treo 800w - check back soon for details.

wmexperts has pretty much confirmed that Sprint will release the new Palm windows mobile device, Treo 800w on 22nd July. We had seen quite a few rumors on the Treo 800w, including the 2008 roadmap below.
Although the leaked picture previously was showing a silver color, the new rumor suggest that charcoal black will be the official colors, accompany with other colors. The Treo 800w will be running windows mobile 6.1, loaded with Palm famous threaded sms. Finally we will see an integrated WiFi and A-GPS on Palm device.

PhoneArena reviews the AT&T Palm Centro: “The AT&T Palm Centro feels great in your hand, call performance was admirable and as a smartphone there isn’t anything it can’t do. This phone is aimed at the “tweener” crowd- the 16-29 year olds who have never owned a smartphone- but given the robust support for both multimedia and business applications and the fantastic form-factor the AT&T Palm Centro should appeal to anyone interested in the Palm OS. Oh, and the $99 pricetag will continue to draw in a few users as well.”

The Verizon Palm Centro is coming soon. New Verizon Palm Centro photos have popped up across the Internet today, indicating the carrier will indeed pick up the hot-selling handset. The Verizon Palm Centro will come in a navy blue color, but feature-wise is not going to change from the Sprint / AT&T model.
The Verizon Palm Centro features will include: Push-to-talk support, Palm’s OS and will have touch-display. Its QWERTY is reported to be as good as those of Treos. The handset will also feature a 1.3-megapixel camera and support EV-DO. Overall, the feature set is pretty impressive for a cheap smartphone. No word yet on the Verizon Palm Centro’s release date or pricing, but check back soon for details.

It looks like Sprint will soon stop offering the Palm Treo 755p, as the handset has been recently removed from the carrier's website.

This is simply an excellent phone and pda. It's the perfect size, it's well-made, and it works. I don't care how old the technology is, the Palm software simply works. Why mess with a good thing? I couldn't be ...After announcing the sale of its one-millionth Palm Centro this week, Palm will be offering its Centro in Mexico with Telcel and Movistar. New blue color Palm Centro will be available, together with a red version too.

A Blue Palm Centro is in the works. The new Blue Palm Centro is apparently headed to Mexico, but they don’t have exclusivity on the handset. Hopefully one of the US carriers will take advantage of this, and get the new color. The Blue Palm Centro is a GSM variant of the US versions, but features will remain exactly the same.
AT&T already has two colors of the Palm Centro and Sprint has one. No word on pricing or availability for the Blue Palm Centro, but more info is coming soon.
According to a leaked road map last week, Sprint will be announcing a Treo 700w replacement, the Treo 800w Windows Mobile smartphone . The roadmap stating a Windows 6.0, but we are guessing it will come with Windows 6.1 since it has already officially announced.
Apart from the usual Palm style design, WiFi and GPS might be included for the first time in Palm history.

Palm may have a real iPhone killer in its hands. Maybe it’s the cheap retail price ($99.9) or maybe it’s the form factor, the Centro being the smallest Palm smartphone to date. Whatever the reasons, Centro is definitely a hot item in the ten countries where it is distributed.
One possible reason for the Centro’s success is the increasing desirability of smartphones. Already smartphones have taken 11% of the handset market. By 2011, it is predicted over one-third (35%) of mobile phones will be smartphones. About 70 per cent of Centro users are new to smartphones.

March 30, 2008- Leaked information regarding the upcoming business actions of Sprint suggest the release of the long awaited Palm Treo 800w. A slide from a smart phone roadmap of release dates showed that the Palm Treo 800w should release in July, as well as some other exciting devices. The new Palm Treo will feature many of the features that were already rumored to be included in the new package. Such features include, Windows Mobile standard and will make the Palm Treo 800w the first 320 x 320 Windows Mobile supporting product. It will also be Palm’s fir Wi-Fi and GPS enabled smart phone as well as their first EVDO Rev A device.
The Sprint Palm Treo 800w should be available soon. The Sprint Palm Treo 800w is rumored to arrive in July and be the replacement for the 700w. Also rumored is that there will be two versions of the handset - one with a camera and one without.

I was excited to see another Palm product for Sprint that was within $100 (with rebates) b/c the other Treos were too expensive for me, a non-biz user. Disappointingly, I immediately had issues with it.
Nuance today announced that the Nuance Mobile flagship VSuite application is shipping on the Palm Centro smartphone from AT&T.
A Black Palm Centro for AT&T is on it’s way. The Black Palm Centro for AT&T is a very nice looking phone. Actually, the official color is “obsidian black”. I think this hue is the most professional looking of all the colors available. After seeing this handset, it’s unclear why AT&T decided to release the white & green version first - but, better late than never I suppose.
We’ll see no feature changes with the Black Palm Centro for AT&T. But, just as a reminder here are a few highlights of the phone: Push-to-talk support, Palm’s OS and will have touch-display. Its QWERTY is reported to be as good as those of Treos. The black Palm Centro for AT&T will also feature a 1.3-megapixel camera and support EV-DO.
According to Palm CEO Ed Colligan during the Palm Quarterly Results, the upcoming Treo 800w will get some delay and will most likely before the end of the summer. The Treo 800w is not running Palm OS, but is a Windows Mobile smartphone with integrated WiFi possibly.

Palm's CEO Ed Colligan announced that the company will not release any new Windows Mobile Treo's this quarter, which means we probably won't see the much anticipated Palm Treo 800w in the nearest future, atleast until Summer.
Too bad, according to Colligan this hand...
