You can run, but you can't hide, Palm. It appears that some enterprising individual unearthed the user guide for the yet-to-be-announced Palm Treo 800w on Sprint's Web site yesterday. This news actually isn't a complete surprise as these rumors have been circulating the Web ...
According to the announcement on Palm’s blog, AT&T’s Centro will be available in electric blue color, the third color after the glacier white and obsidian black. This color scheme will be exclusive available starting this Friday in AT&T and www.palm.com/centro.

Palm has also hinted a possible price cut on the Palm Centro and will be more affordable than ever for back-to-schoolers from July 11 to September 20, 2008.
The AT&T Palm Centro is coming in electric blue! The new AT&T Palm Centro electric blue will be here Friday. Not only will you have a new color to choose from, but they are also lowering the price. No word on what the new price will be though ($50?). The CDMA version of the cell phone will not be getting the new blue color, nor are they lowering their prices, yet anyway. Although, you are getting 3G data with the CDMA version, which are missing with AT&T’s version.
The new AT&T Palm Centro Electric Blue won’t change feature-wise, but here’s a refresher of the specs anyway: Push-to-talk support, Palm’s OS and will have touch-display, nice QWERTY keyboard, a 1.3-megapixel camera and support EV-DO. So, be sure to check out your local dealer this Friday, if you’re at all interested in the AT&T Palm Centro electric blue phone.

Just a quick update for you: apparently, Palm Centro will be coming to AT&T in electric blue on July 11th, and will cost cheaper.
We don't know how much it will actually cost, but we expect t...

Palm Centro smartphone is now available unlocked for U.S. customers. Palm also announced that Google Maps for mobile with My Location on Centro is available for Centro starting tomorrow, giving customers faster access to local maps and driving directions.

The unlocked Palm Centro retains the smartphone’s compact, modern design and is dressed in a new white color with grey accents. Centro offers customers more choices to stay in touch with friends, family and co-workers by using voice, text messaging, email or the web.
Google Maps for mobile with My Location makes it easier and faster for Centro customers to get mapping and direction information by approximating the user’s current location on the map. This saves time and keystrokes for people trying to find where they are, what’s around them, and how to get there.

In addition to My Location, Google Maps offers:

The Rogers Palm Centro is now available. The Rogers Palm Centro is the exact same model selling south of the border, in the USA. It’s had tremendous success with Sprint & AT&T, so no wonder the Canadian carrier decided to pick this one up. The Rogers Palm Centro is actually quite a gem of a phone - it’s small, has decent features & won’t break the bank.
The Rogers Palm Centro will feature: Push-to-talk support, Palm’s OS and will have touch-display. Its QWERTY is reported to be as good as those of Treos. The handset will also feature a 1.3-megapixel camera. You can get the Rogers Palm Centro for $199.99 on a 3 year contract.
The Palm Treo 700wx is getting a Windows Mobile 6 update in the near future, it appears. An update for the Palm Treo 700wx would be a little strange, since it’s an older device. But, if this rumor turns out to be true, all you old-school Treo owners have something to cheer about.
The Palm Treo 700wx Windows Mobile 6 Professional update would include: improved calendar, enhanced email, Office 2007 support, Windows Vista compatibility, better security, email hot keys & email search, voice command via Bluetooth & even an audio patch. No word on when this nice Palm Treo 700wx Windows Mobile 6 update would be available, but hopefully soon.
Cnet reviews the Verizon Palm Centro: “The Verizon Palm Centro offers the same easy-to-use experience and solid set of productivity and communication features as the Sprint and AT&T models. Plus, the Verizon Palm Centro has EV-DO support and good call quality, making it an exceptional value at $99.99
The good: The Verizon Palm Centro offers ease of use, a compact design, and a solid feature set at an affordable price. The smartphone is also EV-DO capable and offers good call quality.
The bad: The handset’s keyboard is small and cramped. There’s no support for stereo Bluetooth headsets.
The bottom line: Despite some minor shortcomings, the Verizon Palm Centro offers customers an easy-to-use, affordable, and solid performing smartphone that’s perfect for the first-time buyer or anyone on a budget.”

Palm Centro Coming to Rogers | Add your Comments
Palm and Rogers Wireless today announced the Canadian launch of the Palm Centro smartphone available at Rogers Wireless. The Centro is Palm’s smallest and lightest smartphone and has sold more than one million units worldwide.

“Traditional cell phone users are stepping up the Palm Centro in droves because of its cool design, full keyboard and ease of use,” said Brodie Keast, senior vice president of marketing for Palm, Inc. “More and more people need voice, text, email, web, contact and calendar capabilities all wrapped in one compact device so they can stay connected with everyone who is important to them. Centro delivers all that and more.”
Centro has a modern, stylish look that feels comfortable in the hand, and discreetly fits in a pocket or clutch. Centro helps users manage email and text messaging, keep track of their schedules, stay up-to-date on the latest news, capture and share pictures, and get maps and directions with Google Maps. Its full keyboard also makes it easy to quickly type text messages and emails with complete thoughts and ideas.

The Verizon Palm Centro is now for sale. The Verizon Palm Centro is a brand new smartphone available to customers, and is already a mega-seller at AT&T and Sprint. The new phone will only set you back $99 with a 2 year contract, which is part of the reason it’s such a success.
