Reviews on the latest and best mobile phones on the market.

Nice! According to different sources the upcoming Palm Nova smartphone will actually be a QWERTY slider running the company's new and "awsome" Nova OS. The pic above is just a drawn render, but you get the idea.
The device is expected to be revealed this Thursday at CES 2009 show, so......

According to a rumour started by CrunchGear yesterday, Palm is set to launch a potential iPhone competitor this Thursday. The new Palm phone will apparently run on the company's new operating system, Nova, which is based on Linux.
In addition to a new OS, the as-yet-unnamed Palm phone is also rumoured to feature a touchscreen and a slide-out Qwerty keypad. Little else is known about the incoming Palm -- we don't expect it'll look much like the Z22, pictured -- but we're very curious indeed.
Interestingly, CrunchGear also hints at the device being manufactured by HTC, which makes the T-Mobile G1, as well as its own-brand HTC devices, so we might see something rather interesting -- fingers crossed.
While I have just stopped using my old Palm Treo 650 and got myself a HTC Touch HD, crunchgear is quite confirmed that the company will make a big announcement coming Thursday during the CES. Powered by its new Nova operating system, Palm will present their new smartphone and it will have a sliding QWERTY keyboard. I am not too excited on the new slider but would definitely want to see what the new Nova OS can provide.

Palm today announced that Elevation Partners has agreed to make an additional $100 million equity investment in Palm. Under a definitive agreement reached today, Elevation will increase its investment in Palm by acquiring newly issued Series C preferred stock that is convertible into Palm common stock at a price of $3.25 per share, a 31 percent premium to the closing price of Palm common stock on Dec. 19, 2008. It’s a good news for Palm users. Yeah, it’s what they’ve been waiting for: the company prepared to launch their next-generation operating system in January, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

The clue is quite clear: The company just sent out an invitation to journalists. The invitation reads, “Come to CES to see all the Palm New-ness you’ve been waiting for.”
It’s exciting to know what kind of the new operating system (that would replace Palm OS 5), which the company has promised since October 2007.

The device you see here is apparently the future Palm Roteo. We know nothing about it, except it's likely codename. The handset should be available sometime in 2009, and hopefully we'll be able to get more on the subject as soon as possible. Stay tuned.
P.S. I must say it's quite ugly.....
[Continue reading Is this Palm Roteo?]Like other smartphone developers more race to touch screens, thin metal boxes, and storage on an equal footing with most personal media players, the market laggard, Palm Treo, just managed to spit its first Wi Fi-enabled smartphone over the summer the Treo 800W.

Far behind the competition on the feature front, and too expensive at $ 250, the Treo is unlikely that much more to satisfy the most diehard fans of Palm and Windows Mobile users.
Palm Treo 800w come with sharp scren, good quality and have fast EV-DO internet. But it has small screen which can difficulty to see, the design of stylus is cheap value, poo with GPS software, come with lousy browset and you only get thick case.

Palm has just released a software patch yesterday, the patch is used to fix an issues with bluetooth car kit or bluetooth headset where you can’t hear the first caller’s voice when you receive 2nd incoming calls during the conversation with first caller.
See the description below:
If you are in an active call using bluetooth car kit or bluetooth headset and you receive a second incoming call and you let it ring or you ignore the incoming call, the call will be diverted to Voicemail. The first call remains active but you can no longer hear the caller (the caller can still hear you). The audio has been lost. If you answer the call and swap between calls or reject the call, the issue is not seen.
You can download the new software patch here. It can also be downloaded directly from your Palm Treo Pro by accessing this mobile address
