Nokia and IBM announced IBM Lotus Notes support for a number of Nokia’s S60-based mobile phones, which enable Lotus Notes users to access email with their Nokia devices. With this announcement, users can connect to corporate email accounts via Lotus Domino Server software known as Lotus Notes Traveler. This software provides real time access to email, calendar, address book, journal and to-do list data and will be available for Nokia devices in December 2008.

“This is another strong affirmation of our business mobility vision, which is to establish partnerships with the world’s leading enterprise vendors. This collaboration means nearly 90 percent of business email can be mobilized with Nokia devices, without needing to purchase additional servers, middleware or licenses. With the presence, position and technology that IBM have in the corporate email market, they are an essential partner for us in enterprise,” says Soren Petersen, senior vice president, Nokia. “People need to be connected to their email, information and network when they are out of the office and that has to be done conveniently and on their terms. Lotus Notes Traveler for Nokia devices is a great example of that.”

A couple days ago I posted a comparison of the N96's Dual LED vs the N82's Xenon Flash. Its pretty easy to guess who won there. But I was really curious to see how the Nokia N96's Daytime picture taking capabilities compared to my ol'faithful Nokia N82. You'd be surprised by the results. For example, which phone do you think took the picture above ? Read on to see the difference in the two cameras for yourself. I present to ye, the long overdue N82 vs N96 camera comparison. The world's top five cell phone makers have launched a common energy rating system for chargers, making it easier for consumers to compare and choose the ones consuming the least energy.
The new rating system developed and supported by LG, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung Electronics and Sony Ericsson, ranges from five stars for the most efficient chargers down to zero stars for the ones consuming the most energy.
The measure is a response by the cell phoen industry to heavy criticism from environmentalists. The industry has become the world's top consumer electronics business by volume.
Chargers continue to use electricity if left plugged into the socket, even if the phone is disconnected. Around two-thirds of the electricity used by cell phones are wasted this way.
"If the more than three billion people owning mobile devices today switched to a four- or five-star charger, this could save the same amount of energy each year as produced by two medium sized power plants," Nokia said in a statement.
The world's top four charger makers include Flextronics, China's BYD Co, Emerson Group and Finnish Salcomp.

Ever wondered how come your Nokia has the reliability you have come to expect from it? Here’s why. Some of their devices may creak a little, but you have got to admit when you think of solidarity and mobile manufacturers, it is Nokia’s name that pops

Some handsets are born to inspire, and the all new Nokia 8600 Luna is one of the creed…it is constantly attracting a lot of consumer attention towards it. This mobile phone is certainly high on fashion and has a lot of ‘X’ factor that is pulling a good deal of clientle towards it. To review this handset in detail, Nokia 8600 Luna looks like a distant cousin of the super high end Nokia 8800 Sirocco and looks quite stylish as compared to the latter. The camera is 2 megapixel type that is fairly small, but the device is primarily a business type device camera is not really the subject here. 110 MB of internal memory can be found on the device which can be supplemented with an SD card up to 8 GB of capacity. The AT&T version is mostly the same phone, though with different 3G frequencies (850/1900MHz vs 850/2100MHz) and obviously different branding. However, I’m pretty interested to see just how in-depth these branding changes are on the AT&T version, both internal and external, and whether the phone has been ruined. Let’s start with the external. Obviously, the carrier branding on the front of the phone and benea
