Nokia Cell Phone Reviews

Nokia and IBM announced IBM Lotus Notes support for a number of Nokia’s S60-based mobile phones, which enable Lotus Notes users to access email with their Nokia devices. With this announcement, users can connect to corporate email accounts via Lotus Domino Server software known as Lotus Notes Traveler. This software provides real time access to email, calendar, address book, journal and to-do list data and will be available for Nokia devices in December 2008.

“This is another strong affirmation of our business mobility vision, which is to establish partnerships with the world’s leading enterprise vendors. This collaboration means nearly 90 percent of business email can be mobilized with Nokia devices, without needing to purchase additional servers, middleware or licenses. With the presence, position and technology that IBM have in the corporate email market, they are an essential partner for us in enterprise,” says Soren Petersen, senior vice president, Nokia. “People need to be connected to their email, information and network when they are out of the office and that has to be done conveniently and on their terms. Lotus Notes Traveler for Nokia devices is a great example of that.”

For example, which phone do you think took the picture above ? Read on to see the difference in the two cameras for yourself. I present to ye, the long overdue N82 vs N96 camera comparison. The Nokia 6650 is similar to Nokia's 6500 Slide, and its low-profile charms could earn it a mass following.

If you recall, recently we mentioned the Spanish Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, which for some reason costed a whole $500 (two times higher than the original price). Well, now we know why. The handset actually came preloaded wit...

The world's top five cell phone makers have launched a common energy rating system for chargers, making it easier for consumers to compare and choose the ones consuming the least energy.

The new rating system developed and supported by LG, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung Electronics and Sony Ericsson, ranges from five stars for the most efficient chargers down to zero stars for the ones consuming the most energy.

The measure is a response by the cell phoen industry to heavy criticism from environmentalists. The industry has become the world's top consumer electronics business by volume.

Chargers continue to use electricity if left plugged into the socket, even if the phone is disconnected. Around two-thirds of the electricity used by cell phones are wasted this way.

"If the more than three billion people owning mobile devices today switched to a four- or five-star charger, this could save the same amount of energy each year as produced by two medium sized power plants," Nokia said in a statement.

The world's top four charger makers include Flextronics, China's BYD Co, Emerson Group and Finnish Salcomp.

While I'm waiting for a miracle chance to review the flagship Nokia N96 myself, fellow blogger Rico from Technograph has posted his first impressions of the said device. "The phone is very reminiscent of the N81 8GB," says Rico, and I agree. In fact, I think all of Nokia's upcoming phones, save for the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, look a lot like each other. Someone would be likely to think these little devices were brothers, or something, don't you think? And that's a bad thing... But anyway, pray

Did AT&T Ruin The Nokia 6650?

Nov 15, 2008 Filed under: Nokia

As you may know, the Nokia 6650 was first released in Germany on T-Mobile. The AT&T version is mostly the same phone, though with different 3G frequencies (850/1900MHz vs 850/2100MHz) and obviously different branding. However, I’m pretty interested to see just how in-depth these branding changes are on the AT&T version, both internal and external, and whether the phone has been ruined. Let’s start with the external. Obviously, the carrier branding on the front of the phone and benea

From the model number, you'd think the N85 is a lesser version of the famous N95, but it's actually an upgrade. It boasts Wi-Fi, HSDPA, GPS and a 3.5mm headphone socket. Is this a case of Nokia running out of ideas, or is it merely honing a deservedly popular phone?
