Reviews on the latest and best mobile phones on the market.
Last year’s Nokia 6110 has been launch with GPS navigation and now the Nokia 6210 Navigator comes with an improved satellite navigation system, numerous upgraded features.

The Nokia 6210 Navigator seems to be a flawed proposition. The price of dedicated SatNav systems has dropped a lot, with the price for a basic TomTom starting at around £110 / €165. The mapping and navigation software has been improved. With added features for people navigating on foot, turn-by-turn directions and voice guidance, the 6210 is certainly better.
The display is larger (at 2.4″), it comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera, HSDPA high-speed data (market dependent) and an FM radio. The 6210 runs the Symbian S60 operating system, so new applications can be added on. Navigation time is up to 6 hours (with no backlight), or 4 hours (with the backlight on).

There’s an MP3 player, web browser, email client and instant messaging. Nokia say that the 6210 Navigator should be available from the third quarter of 2008 in various GSM / WCDMA configurations depending on market.
Compatible with most DCT4 and BB5 Nokia mobile phones, The No-Key Nokia X-SIM allows users to bypass the lock and utilize different service providers. It is available at www.one-stop-china.com, can unlock Nokia mobile phones that operate with a SIM card, allowing phones to work in any network.

Are you bored with all the same old games that come with your handsets? Have you ever had a great idea for a game, but no way to bring your idea to life? Well, dream no more! Nokia, together with Yamake by Nokia Games Publishing, is proud to introduce the latest in mobile handset gaming. Now users can create their own mini games that range from puzzles created using their own multimedia to quizzes that are as unique as each of the users. If you can dream it up, you can create it with this newest innovation from Nokia. Players can create their very own mini games that they can play on their own handsets as well as being able to take advantage of the games that come standard on all S60 devices.

Nokia N-Gage is apparently scoffing at the Sony PSP phone even before it’s announced. It’s true that Nokia got to the mobile gaming market before Sony, but Sony does have a lot of experience with gaming devices - so it seems like an obvious move to make a Sony PSP phone.
The head of Nokia’s games division went on the assault at a recent press event for its brand spanking new N-Gage client, saying “I’m not scared about anybody. The real question is how do they do it? Can they create a link between the PSP games and a phone? Can they do the multiplayer and online stuff? We’ve been doing this for two years and it hasn’t been easy.”
This is a rather odd statement coming from Nokia N-Gage, since the Sony PSP Phone hasn’t even been announced yet. Do they know something we don’t? Well, we all kind of expect a PSP style phone to come at some point I guess.

Wouldn’t it be great if we could find where we were going on a map without having to twist it and turn it to get your directions straight? Or if that seemingly “right hand” turn on the navigation screen really meant turn to the right and not “turn west”? How many times have you, as I, ended up lost and turned around in an area you were unfamiliar with? Well, the new Nokia 6210 is at our rescue and here to point us in the right direction… literally!! The newest feature for Nokia that has been added to the Nokia 6210 is a built in compass with a map that will rotate its orientation to always point in the direction you are actually going. No longer will you have to waste time trying to work out which direction you are actually traveling according to the map! This great new option for mapping your way will always point in the direction are going, no matter where you stand or which way you are driving.

Okay, Krusell only manufactures carrying cases for cell phones but if they say Nokia is king again, who can disagree with them?
Krusell made its top ten cell phone list based on the orders of handset-specific carrying cases. The numbers were relevant for the month of February. Krusell cases is sold in 6 continents and reflects global trends. Based on Krusell’s figures, Nokia cellphones take 7 places, including numbers one and two of the top ten list. In fact, the only other cellphone brand in the top ten list is Sony Ericsson. Take note that this is based on carrying cases for these specific models. Maybe Samsung and Motorola users do not bother protecting their phones with a case. The iPhone, of course, has its own case that you can buy from the Apple Store.

Cnet reviews the Nokia E90 Communicator: “The Nokia E90 Communicator is a mammoth. The handset measures a whopping 5.2 inches tall by 2.2 inches wide by 0.7 inch deep and weighs 7.4 ounces, so you can pretty much forget about slipping this into a pants pocket, comfortably anyway. On the upside, the Nokia E90 Communicator has a solid construction and looks like it could weather some rough treatment. It’s also got a decidedly no-nonsense, corporate look, which suits its intended audience of power business users.
The good: The Nokia E90 Communicator is equipped with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS, and has a solid set of productivity and communication features for the business user. The Symbian smartphone also has a full QWERTY keyboard and 3.2-megapixel camera.
The bad: The handset doesn’t support U.S. 3G networks, and speakerphone volume is a bit weak. The handset is also heavy and bulky.
The bottom line: The Nokia E90 Communicator has a feature set as large as its size, satisfying the needs of the power business users. That said, we’re disappointed by the lack of 3G.”

MobileBurn reviews the Nokia 7900 Prism: “The Nokia 7900 Prism is most definitely one of the most attractive handsets Nokia has put out recently, and the Prism design scheme looks great. The customization features and simplicity are awesome, but the lack of useful hardware buttons, such as volume keys and camera key, as well as the extreme shutter delay make it hard to use on a daily basis. The battery life is satisfactory, and the S40 5th Edition offers up plenty of customization. I would give the Nokia 7900 Prism a “Recommended” rating overall.”

Today the ITC held up an earlier judgment that Nokia did not violate three of Qualcomm's patents regarding mobile phone technology. Other litigation between the two companies is still pending.

Morph is one of the newest and most innovative ideas today coming to us from the great minds at Cambridge and Nokia. Together, they have devised a new way to present their phone to the world: with true flexibility of design. Morph is an idea that will demonstrate to the world how mobile handsets of the future can be made of material that will allow them to stretch and flex into radically different shapes. Can you imagine being about to sculpt your mobile phone? Well now you can! This new idea will demonstrate the functionality that can be achieved using nanotechnology in the creation of our phones of tomorrow. The goal was to reinvent the form and functionality of today’s mobile phone, and they really hit the nail on the head with this one.

A new Black Nokia N82 photo has surfaced on the Internet. The Black Nokia N82 was actually seen on Nokia’s website a few weeks back, but then suddenly disappeared. I guess they weren’t quite ready for the public to view the new colored handset.
Anyway, the photo at left of the black Nokia N82 was taken by an employee of MobileCity Online (based in Manhattan) and he says that the new handset is still scheduled to debut in April. No pricing has been confirmed yet, but it’s expected to be the same as the original handset.
PhoneArena reviews the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet: “The Nokia N810 Internet Tablet is great – internet browsing delivers computer-like experience (though we would have liked some phone features such as panning) and viewing pages is great. Multimedia is just as one would like, once the correct application is installed and the QWERTY is just OK for messaging. The hardware is great, but it’s the software that matters. There are lots of applications for the open-source system and their number is growing; check them out and if you like them, the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet will be a good device for you.”

The T-Mobile Nokia 3555 should be headed to the carrier by March 17th. The new T-Mobile Nokia 3555 is very low end, but then again - it does carry 3G UMTS. The handset is a bit strange looking when opened, and looks a little plasticky. But, what else can you expect from a low end phone?
On the other hand, the T-Mobile Nokia 3555 does have some decent features for being a low end model: quad-band GSM, myFaves support, speakerphone, VGA cam, dual-band WCDMA, stereo Bluetooth and a microSD slot.

The cellphone of the future, if the world’s number handset manufacturer gets its way, will be made of flexible materials, self-cleaning and absorbs solar power efficiently. This is Nokia Morph, Nokia’s concept phone of the future that will be injected with the latest in nanotechnology. Nokia will not be alone in the research, and they’ll have very good help from the Cambridge Nanoscience Centre. A phone that you can wrap on your wrist or straighten out into a tablet PC may be many years and even decades ahead, but Nokia think nanotech will be used on their phones as early as seven years from now.
The great thing about Nokia is that it is trying to advance technology all the time. The bad news is, some other phone company can pull the technology rug from under it by doing it more practically.

Imagine a user tapping out text messages on a device the size of an index card and as flat as a piece of paper, then folding it in thirds to holding it to the ear and make a phone call. Refolding it in a slightly different shape and wrap it around a wrist, where it becomes a watch and also communicates with an ear bud that lets them talk handsfree.
Nokia and University of Cambridge researchers have developed an animated video describing how future mobile devices might be stretchable and flexible, allowing users to transform their device into radically different shapes.
Nanotechnology might be capable of delivering flexible materials, transparent electronics and self-cleaning surfaces. Dr. Bob Iannucci, Chief Technology Officer, Nokia, commented: "Nokia Research Center is looking at ways to reinvent the form and function of mobile devices; the Morph concept shows what might be possible."
Professor Mark Welland, Head of the Department of Engineering's Nanoscience Group at the University of Cambridge and University Director of Nokia-Cambridge collaboration added: "Developing the Morph concept with Nokia has provided us with a focus that is both artistically inspirational but, more importantly, sets the ...
