[Continue reading AT&T Offers Pink Nokia 6085 and Lavender MOTORAZR V3xx]One of two very different concept phones from Nokia, the Nokia Morph is a theoretical future device based on nanotechnology that can change shape and size according to function. The Morph concept device is a bridge between highly advanced technologies and their potential benefits to end-users.

Morph concept technologies might create fantastic opportunities for mobile devices. The concept is currently a theoretical one only, and is the result of research between Nokia and the University of Cambridge.
Nanotechnology enables materials and components that are flexible, stretchable, transparent and remarkably strong. Nokia say that it is possible that some nanotech elements could be incorporated into handsets within the next seven years, but there are potential pitfalls with nanotechnology too.

Nanotechnology also can be leveraged to create self-cleaning surfaces on mobile devices, ultimately reducing corrosion, wear and improving longevity. Nanostructured surfaces, such as “Nanoflowers” naturally repel water, dirt, and even fingerprints utilizing effects also seen in natural systems.

The AT&T Nokia N75 Tab Top is now available. Actually, the AT&T Nokia N75 Tab Top has been available for a while now, but just recently got a name change. Verizon did the same thing recently with the Samsung U940 Alias. The AT&T phone is quite a powerhouse though, running on UMTS and it was the first of the N-Series handsets to run on a US network carrier.
As a reminder, the AT&T Nokia N75 Tab Top features include: a thin clamshell design, Bluetooth enabled, high speed data access, 2 megapixel camera w/ zoom and flash & runs on Symbian S60.
You can purchase the AT&T Nokia N75 Tab Top now for $199.99 on a 2 year contract - assuming the pricing is already updated.
The problem with having the new N95GB imported from Europe before the North American version is released is that the nifty HSDPA won’t work. But alas, Nokia has finally blessed us with an NAM version that has the US spec HSDPA inside.

As we informed you a couple of days ago, Nokia launched the new Nokia 6650 for T-Mobile at CeBIT 2008 show.
Now we ...

The U.S. version of the Nokia N95 8GB with HSDPA 850 / 1900 can now be picked up from Nokia stores. This Nokia N95 8GB, unlike the one that has been available for weeks in the U.S. can connect to local 3G and HSDPA networks . The 8GB N95 enjoys a bigger screen than the original now with 2.8 inches of viewing real estate. The $779 price tag does not sound so bad especially when you consider that this cellphone is practically a computer with added features like a 5 MP camera.

Nokia has signed a strategic partnership agreement with China Postel Mobile Communication Equipment Co., Ltd. (China Postel) of China P&T Appliances. China Postel is expected to purchase mobile devices valued at approximately USD 2 billion from Nokia in 2008. In addition, both parties have agreed to strengthen strategic ties, especially with regard to channel development, resource investment, and marketing management.
Nokia, the world’s largest handset manufacturer just got even bigger after signing a handset contract with China Postel, a Chinese cellphone distributer, to supply $2 billion worth of handsets to the country.
It’s quite a big number but in 2007, Nokia’s deal with China Postel was worth $2.5 billion. The difference can be attributed to lower price points on Nokia’s handsets. In China, Nokia’s dominance is unquestionable selling more handsets in the fourth quarter than its three closest rivals put together. In India, it’s dominance is equally apparent.
With Motorola in trouble, Nokia is positioned to considerably improve its lead.

The North American Nokia N95 8GB NAM handset is now on sale! The Nokia N95 8GB NAM is the upgraded version of the already available N95. It’s available starting today in a black color, which sells for a whopping $799. Hopefully, AT&T picks this one up so the sticker-shock won’t be so painful.
The North American Nokia N95 8GB is loaded with HSDPA 850 / 1900 bands and of course the 8GB of storage for MP3’s, etc. But overall, the handset stays the same as it’s predecessor.

Apparently, Nokia plans to release a new Wi-Fi-disabled version of the N78 smartphone in the U.S. market, as the handset was recently spotted at the FCC site.
Why the company decided to push a WLAN-le...

Morph, a joint nanotechnology concept, developed by Nokia Research Center (NRC) and the University of Cambridge (UK) - was launched last month alongside the "Design and the Elastic Mind" exhibition at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.

Finally, it happened. Nokia's S60 smartphones will now support Microsoft's Silverlight platform, the competitive technology to the Adobe Flash.
This is a web-based cross-browser, cross-platform plug-in, which delivers "the next generation...

MobileBurn reviews the Nokia BH-701 Bluetooth headset: “The Nokia BH-701 Bluetooth headset’s sound quality is superb, it will unfortunately never get an opportunity to shine due to the disturbing ‘fashion’ design. The standard Nokia charging port and comfortable rubber earpiece are also advantages. As one might expect with such a design, though, several women that I asked to test the headset were embarrassed to wear the Nokia BH-701 Bluetooth headset in public. The Nokia BH-701 receives a “Not Recommended” rating from us, given the patently silly design and the unresponsive volume rocker switch.”

Looks like the Fido Nokia 6555 is now available for purchase. The Fido Nokia 6555 is a pretty good looking 3G flip phone that packs a fair amount of features for the price. It’s offered at $75 CAD on a 3 year contract. The strange part is that Fido makes no mention of the Nokia 6555’s UMTS capabilities - I guess they are letting the customers figure that one out.
EngadgetMobile has more on the specs: “the stylish Fido Nokia 6555 flip can now be yours, offering quadband EDGE, microSD expansion (with a 1GB card thrown in to get you started), QVGA primary display, and 1.3 megapixel cam.”

FCC site has unveiled yesterday a new unknown Nokia handset under a product code RM-324.
We only know that this is a flip phone supporting AT&T-compatible US 3G/HSDPA networks and bundled with a 1...

handcellphone.comNokia today announced plans to make Microsoft Silverlight available for S60 on Symbian OS, adding support for developers to create interactive applications that run on multiple platforms.
Microsoft released Silverlight 1.0 in September 2007 as a plug-in for browsers that could work on Windows, Linux and the Mac platform. Microsoft developed the technology to displace Adobe's Flash, which currently has about 97 percent to 99 percent penetration on the Web as a technology for delivering multimedia content and RIAs.
Flash also is available on wireless devices as Flash Lite; the technology is available on more than 450 million phones, according to Adobe.
The arrangement with Nokia will extend the reach of Silverlight by making the platform available for hundreds of millions of devices, including S60 on Symbian smartphones from a range of manufacturers, as well as Nokia Series 40 devices and Nokia Internet tablets.
Silverlight is intended to be available to S60 developers later this year with initial service delivery anticipated shortly thereafter for all S60 licensees. This will allow S60 application developers to use a range of development environments for S60 on Symbian OS.

The AT&T Nokia N95-3 is rumored to be arriving later this Spring. If AT&T does pick up the Nokia N95-3, it will be the first carrier branded N95 to enter the US. For most people, the Nokia N-series handsets are a bit out of their price range, but hopefully with subsidies and 2 year agreement a lot more people will be able to afford this superb handset.
Here are a few features you can expect with the AT&T Nokia N95-3: HSDPA packet data, quadband GSM/EDGE, dualband W-CDMA access, speakerphone, HTML browser, 5.0 megapixel camera with video capture, flash and auto foucus, video output jack, media player with dedicated keypad, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP stereo audio support, MMS support, and QVGA display.
As of now, this carrier branded version is just a rumor. But hopefully in a few months we will in fact see it available in stores. You can also check out a Nokia N95-3 review while you wait.

Nokia today announced the launch of the Nokia 6124 classic, exclusively available from Vodafone in Vodafone markets. The Nokia 6124 classic is a compact multimedia device offering Vodafone customers faster and easier access to all of Vodafone's high speed Internet and entertainment services.
The Nokia 6650 may be the dark horse in this year’s features war. It’s a clamshell phone with shades of MotoKRZR in the design. Feature-wise, this is an out-and-out Nokia phone.
The 6650 has integrated GPS, Asisted GPS, dual-band 3G and HSDPA. There is a 2 megapixel camera and flash, which won’t impress anyone, an FM radio and microSD slot.
Incidentally, the previous incarnation of the Nokia 6650 was Nokia’s first 3G phone, and it wasn’t anywhere as pretty as the new 6650. The clamshell phone has built-in Web’n'walk, MyFaves, Mobile Jukebox and NaviGate. Not nearly the most feature-packed Nokia but a very useful fashion statement, in case that sort of thing appeals to you. This is a T-Mobile exclusive and will start shipping Q3.
