A very basic but smart looking clamshell, the Motorola W270 has some surprising features that you might not guess by glancing at it.

The Motorola RAZR2 V9m is available at Cricket Wireless now. The Motorola RAZR2 V9m is an upgraded Razr with a larger screen among other things. It’s a very hot phone, so you may want to check it out at your local Cricket store.

Cricket offers the Motorola RAZR2 V9m for $399.99, about $150 more than Verizon. However, according to Cricket, you won’t be tied to any contracts when you avail of their service and their services include: unlimited anytime minutes, unlimited U.S. long distance, unlimited text and picture messaging, and unlimited Mobile Web access.

IntoMobile got some hands-on review time with the MOTORIZR Z10. The unit at the CES 2008 was still a prototype, so we may still see some changes to the MOTORIZR Z10 before it releases. Overall it looks like a great addition to Motorola’s line-up.

Here’s what IntoMobile has to say: “Overall, the MOTORIZR Z10 is a striking piece of RAZR-esque design that is both bold and sleek at the same time. The handset’s lines are essentially the same as Motorola’s Z8 slide-phone - with the same “slide and bend” design.

We weren’t able to test out the 3G HSDPA and full HTML browser, nor the instantaneous video broadcasting, but those are some pretty trick features that are sure to appeal to a lot of people.”

Motorola today expanded its ROKR family of music products with the introduction of the ROKR E8 mobile device.

The Motorola ROKR Z6m is now available at Cricket and MetroPCS. Previously, the Motorola ROKR Z6m was only available at Alltel (carrier-wise). Cricket and MetroPCS added the phone in hopes of boosting their high end cell phone sales.

The Motorola ROKR E8 and Motorola Z10 were announced at the CES 2008. Both the Motorola ROKR E8 and Motorola Z10 have been rumored about for months and finally got their time in the spotlight. Both of the handsets are very sleek looking and are high-end. Look for them to be available later this quarter. PhoneScoop has some great descriptions of the phones below:

Motorola ROKR E8: A bar-style quad-band GSM phone with a unique morphing keypad that only has music keys in music mode and only camera keys in camera mode. A new kind of haptic feedback allows the flat, smooth surface of the keypad to emulate the real feel of individual key presses. Other features of the Motorola ROKR E8 include Linux/Java software, 3.5mm headphone jack, 2 GB of built-in memory plus a memory card slot, EDGE data, a 2 megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth, and a physical key lock switch.

Both the Motorola W230 and W270 handsets are very basic style phones, so don’t expect a lot of features. No word on pricing yet, but you should be able to get your hands on one this quarter.

Motorola today unveiled the Z10, a stylish kick-slider mobile film studio that captures high-quality video, edit clips, create transitions between scenes and add title slides and a soundtrack. Then, budding filmmakers can upload their creation to share with friends and family through any number of Web sites such as YouTube, Google, Yahoo! and ShoZu.

In addition to creating videos, the Z10 features great media playback capabilities. With a 2.2-inch QVGA screen that displays video at 30 frames per second in millions of colors, consumers can watch their own films or downloaded content. The external storage slot will support an external memory card with up to 32GB of capacity, when available.

One-press of the dedicated camera key launches the 3.2-megapixel camera in only 1.5 seconds. The Superfast burst mode captures up to three images a second, so consumers will never miss a frame of the action. The smart auto-focus keeps pictures sharp while intelligent auto-save automatically names and saves images directly to the on-board media gallery or favorite media-sharing Web sites.

Motorola designed the ROKR E8 to deliver an uncompromised consumer experience for music or talk. Cnet reviews the T-Mobile Razr2 V8: “The T-Mobile Razr2 V8 is downright gorgeous. The more streamlined shape, glossy exterior, and metal finish add up to a huge aesthetic improvement over the original Razr, and we think the dark blue color is the best color we’ve seen on a cell phone. The T-Mobile Razr2 V8’s dimensions (4.05 inches by 2.08 inches by 0.46 inch; 4.1 ounces) are the same as on the other Razr2s, and it has the same solid feel in the hand.

The good: The T-Mobile Razr2 V8 offers an attractive design and a useful feature set including stereo Bluetooth and world phone support. Also, its call, music, and photo performance are quite good.

The bad: The handset doesn’t fully utilize its external display or controls, and its menu structure is confusing. Also, it’s the only Razr2 without support for 3G networks.

The bottom line: The T-Mobile Razr2 V8 may be one of the prettiest Razr2s around, but it’s not nearly as smart. Its saving grace is its good performance.”
