Motorola i570 Sprint-NextelThe rugged Motorola i570 for Sprint-Nextel has been rumored before, but now is official. The Motorola i570 has the look of a “normal” Sprint-Nextel phone: meaning rugged exterior, a bit bulky, stubby antenna and small screen.

EngadgetMobile has more: “The new Sprint-Nextel Motorola i570 laughs in the face of iDEN / CDMA hybrid and Qchat technologies, kicking it totally old-school with a straight up iDEN implementation that hearkens back to a simpler (read: less interesting) time. The Motorola i570’s features include integrated GPS, teeny, tiny color primary and monochrome external displays, and a ruggedized shell.”

You can get the rugged Motorola i570 at a Sprint-Nextel store now for a tad under $100 after rebates and contract.

Mobile-review have posted their Motorola U9 review. Here is the final impression. Impressions The reception quality of the U9 was never an issue, for it is a typical Motorola-branded phone. The loudspeaker’s volume is pretty average, though you won’t miss calls when the handset is in your clothes; the vibro alert is moderate strength-wise or a tad better than that. MOTORIZR Z10 Hands-On Review

Jan 9, 2008 Filed under: Motorola

Motorola Rizr Z10IntoMobile got some hands-on review time with the MOTORIZR Z10. The unit at the CES 2008 was still a prototype, so we may still see some changes to the MOTORIZR Z10 before it releases. Overall it looks like a great addition to Motorola’s line-up.

Here’s what IntoMobile has to say: “Overall, the MOTORIZR Z10 is a striking piece of RAZR-esque design that is both bold and sleek at the same time. The handset’s lines are essentially the same as Motorola’s Z8 slide-phone - with the same “slide and bend” design.

We weren’t able to test out the 3G HSDPA and full HTML browser, nor the instantaneous video broadcasting, but those are some pretty trick features that are sure to appeal to a lot of people.”

Motorola unveils Rokr E8 and Z10

Jan 8, 2008 Filed under: Motorola

Motorola isn't dead -- it's just making a few internal changes -- and in the meantime it's come out with these puppies, the Motorola E8 and Z10

The next killer consumer application is going to be mobile TV, or at least that's what Motorola is hoping with its latest device, the Mobile TV DH01. It looks like a black, shiny Archos player from the outside, and does similar things (audio and video playback), but there's one big difference.

The new Motorola Z10, presented at CES, is a real portable film studio.

This stylish slider offers different video editing tools and allows for sharing clips through YouTube, Google, Yahoo! and ShoZu Web sites. Other ...

Motorola ROKR E8-Z10The Motorola ROKR E8 and Motorola Z10 were announced at the CES 2008. Both the Motorola ROKR E8 and Motorola Z10 have been rumored about for months and finally got their time in the spotlight. Both of the handsets are very sleek looking and are high-end. Look for them to be available later this quarter. PhoneScoop has some great descriptions of the phones below:

Motorola ROKR E8: A bar-style quad-band GSM phone with a unique morphing keypad that only has music keys in music mode and only camera keys in camera mode. A new kind of haptic feedback allows the flat, smooth surface of the keypad to emulate the real feel of individual key presses. Other features of the Motorola ROKR E8 include Linux/Java software, 3.5mm headphone jack, 2 GB of built-in memory plus a memory card slot, EDGE data, a 2 megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth, and a physical key lock switch.

Motorola Z10: An upgraded version of the Z8, which shares the same UIQ software and “kick slide” design. Upgrades of the Motorola Z10 include in-phone video editing, support for microSD memory cards up to 32 GB, 30 fps video capture, and a 3.2 megapixel still camera with 1.5 second start-up time.

Motorola W230-W270Both the Motorola 230 and Motorola W270 feature an ”FM radio with RDS reception, media playback with microSD expansion, and Motorola’s CrystalTalk noise reduction tech. The Motorola W230 does the formula in a candybar form factor with interchangeable faceplates, the Motorola W270 adds a hinge into the mix.”

Both the Motorola W230 and W270 handsets are very basic style phones, so don’t expect a lot of features. No word on pricing yet, but you should be able to get your hands on one this quarter.

Motorola today expanded its ROKR family of music products with the introduction of the ROKR E8, the new generation of ROKR products offering a complete music ecosystem.

Motorola designed the ROKR E8 to deliver an uncompromised consumer experience for music or talk. Using ModeShift technology from Motorola, the quad-band GPRS/EDGE device presents users with only the controls they need, at the time they need them, instantly transforming from music player to phone with the touch of a button.

When powered off, the surface of the ROKR E8 is smooth, with no visible keys. Power on the device and it presents a virtual numbered keypad on the front surface. With one "press" of the virtual music key, the phone keypad disappears and control keys for the music player - play, pause, fast forward and rewind - appear in its place.

Using innovative vibrating haptics technology, the device provides the tactile feedback consumers expect from a traditional keypad, providing confirmation they have pressed a virtual key.

The ROKR E8 also marks the debut ...

Motorola V176 Review - PhoneScoop

Motorola V176 Tracfone-Net10PhoneScoop user reviews the Motorola V176: “The Motorola V176 for Tracfone and Net10 is basically an improved v170 or v171. Improvements include a much better display, better feeling keys, better ringtones, speaker phone, and a modern user interface. (The user interface resembles what you find on new Motorola phones for contract plans. A big improvement of the Motorola V176 over the v170 user interface.) The earpiece sounds the same as the v170, not quite as loud as I would like though loud enough. Overall, the Motorola V176 is an improvement over the previous Tracfone-Net10 offerings.”

T-Mobile Razr2 V8 Review - Cnet

Jan 4, 2008 Filed under: Motorola

T-Mobile Razr2 V8Cnet reviews the T-Mobile Razr2 V8: “The T-Mobile Razr2 V8 is downright gorgeous. The more streamlined shape, glossy exterior, and metal finish add up to a huge aesthetic improvement over the original Razr, and we think the dark blue color is the best color we’ve seen on a cell phone. The T-Mobile Razr2 V8’s dimensions (4.05 inches by 2.08 inches by 0.46 inch; 4.1 ounces) are the same as on the other Razr2s, and it has the same solid feel in the hand.

The good: The T-Mobile Razr2 V8 offers an attractive design and a useful feature set including stereo Bluetooth and world phone support. Also, its call, music, and photo performance are quite good.

The bad: The handset doesn’t fully utilize its external display or controls, and its menu structure is confusing. Also, it’s the only Razr2 without support for 3G networks.

The bottom line: The T-Mobile Razr2 V8 may be one of the prettiest Razr2s around, but it’s not nearly as smart. Its saving grace is its good performance.”
