The live photos are also include a side by side comparison with LG Renoir KC910, the first 8 megapixel camera phone from LG. The LG KC780 has a smaller display screen, it may not be a touch screen but is the slimmest at 13.7mm thick.

The LG Renoir KC910 will be available in the market this month. According to the recent announcement it will first available in Europe, follow by Asia, Latin America and CIS in November, the Middle East and Africa in December and China in January of 2009. The 13.95 mm Renoir will be available in titan black and other color options depending on operator.

In yet another LG Renoir KC910 press releases, LG has confirmed that it will announce a 8 megapixel camera phone in October. The upcoming LG KC780 is the slimmest, but just about 0.1mm slimmer than Samsung Pixon at 13.7mm

Other than the little info of LG KC980, LG has also revealed its plan on LG Renoir KC910 release plan. After making its initial debut in Europe in October of this year, Renoir will come out in Asia, Latin America and CIS in November, the Middle East and Africa in December and China in January of 2009. The 13.95 mm Renoir will be available in titan black and other color options depending on operator.

Today LG announced two new touch-based handsets, the high-end KC910 Renoir and the KP500. Both phones launch in European markets in October, followed by other regions in the first quarter of 2009.

LG Electronics today announced the launch of KP500, an affordable handset with touch screen technology.
Advanced handwriting recognition writes memos and text messages, and edit photo images by touching the screen with the pen tip. A QWERTY onscreen keyboard slides into view when the KP500 is held horizontally, and the auto rotating display always shifts images or documents for proper viewing.
Motion sensor games are played by turning, flipping, and shifting the handset for a more active and fun gaming experience.
The KP500 has the latest UI that allows users to attach a friend's photo for the speed dial feature, then page through the portraits and touch the friend to be called.
"We optimized the user interface to keep the tactile operations smooth and simple which is necessary when you're opening up a new technology to a wide group of people," said Skott Ahn, CEO of LG Electronics Mobile.
The slim KP500 is a GSM phone which can operate in four frequency bands and in 39 languages, giving it a far-reaching range.

Ericsson is selected by LG Electronics, to provide mobile broadband modules based on HSPA. LG Electronics notebooks and netbooks will include mobile broadband modules from Ericsson in Q3 2008. HSPA provides a DSL-like experience wirelessly with true mobility and there are currently more than 207 commercially deployed HSPA networks globally, serving more than one billion subscribers.

LG announces the launch of LG KP500 with an affordable introduction price. Slim-profiled and lightweight, the LG KP500 is a GSM phone which can operate in four frequency bands and supports 39 languages. LG did not reveal the selling price but said it will be affordable to most mobile phone users. When available, it will come in black, Vandyke brown, Anodizing silver, and Elegant gold, giving consumers more choices for their personal tastes.

GSMAreana has managed to obtain a press photo of the new 8 megapixel camera phone, the LG KC780. The slider phone was first leaked last week and is the second 8 megapixel camera phone from LG after LG KC910. Although it is built in slider form factor, GSMArena said it will be slimmer than Samsung Pixon which is at least less than 13.8 mm for the thickness. Detail specifications is still unknown at the moment. Expect it to support GSM Quadband network and VGA video recording. The first LG KC910 is scheduled to be available in the market in October next month.

By next year you should have more 8 megapixel camera phone to choose from. Rumor is saying that LG will be launching their second 8 megapixel phone called KC780. Built in slider form, the LG KC780 has a full touch screen and able to capture video in VGA resolution. Its camera will support red eye reduction, face detection and image stabilizer. It is not sure if the KC780 will have the Xenon flash module too. LG has just announced the KC910 8 megapixel camera phone early this month.

Just as what we reported last week, LG has officially announced that it will work with Prada again and they will launch their second LG Prada phone in Q4 this year. First heard in April, the new LG Prada phone will be a GSM Quadband phone and comes with HSDPA capability. It also has built in WiFi, 3-inch touch screen, QWERTY slider keyboard, bluetooth, FM Radio and microSDHC card slot.

1. Design - The combination of a touch screen and a keyboard isn't new of course, but I thought it would be good to remind people that others exist. The HTC Touch Pro is a Windows Mobile device that has both a touch screen and a keyboard, while the LG Voyager is a non-smartphone with both a touch screen and a keyboard as well. That said, the addition of a QWERTY keyboard does make it a little more easy to use than touch-screen-only devices like the Apple iPhone or the Samsung Instinct. Also note that so far, it seems that the G1 has a removable battery while the iPhone does not.
Update: It turns out that the G1 does not have a 3.5-mm headset jack, which is a big downside considering it does have a music player with access to the Amazon MP3 store. And because it doesn't have stereo Bluetooth either, you might have to cough out some extra cash for ...

Other than Sony Ericsson C905 and Samsung Innov8 i8510, LG KC910 is the third GSM mobile phone that featuring a 8 megapixel camera module. The LG KC910 has a codename called LG Renoir, which came from a name of an artist. According to GSMHelpDesk hands on, the KC910 has implemented a similar interface as Samsung TouchWIZ UI. Unlike Samsung, which places the TouchWIZ bar at the side, LG has a row of little icons at the bottom of the display screen. You can move the icon out from the bar to the main screen, and it will be activated on the screen.


The LG Renoir KC910 is the successor of LG Viewty, which debuted as the slimmest 5 megapixel phone. The 8 megapixel module on the KC910 is a Schneider-Kreuznach certified optics, assisted by a xenon flash and supports ISO sensitivity up to 1600. strengthening the phone’s camera features are image stabilization, auto-focus, manual focus, Face Tracking, Smile Shot and blink detection. The camera application on this test model needed some improvements. GSMHelpDesk finds it quite slow from launching the camera application to taking a snapshot.
