Reviews on the latest and best mobile phones on the market.
Cnet reviews the LG CE110: “The LG CE110 comes without a lot of features and is probably considered a “starter” handset. The camera is VGA and screen quality is pretty poor, but the LG CE110 does come with a few advanced features like Bluetooth, a speakerphone, and a wireless Web browser. Best of all, AT&T is currently offering it for free with a two-year contract. For a price like that, the LG CE110 is probably one of the better basic handsets to hit the market.
The good: The LG CE110 is a simple lightweight camera phone with some nice advanced features like instant messaging and Bluetooth. It’s also very affordable.
The bad: The phone has a lackluster screen plus disappointing photo quality. It also lacks an external camera key.
The bottom line: It’s a decent and affordable basic camera phone with some nice added features.”

“Pink LG Venus VX8800 is finally official and available now on Verizon Wireless. Feature wise, the Pink LG Venus offers up no extras not already found on the black iteration, but just in case you needed a refresher, you’ll find a 2-megapixel camera, VZ Navigator capability, a microSD expansion slot and built-in Bluetooth.”
The new Pink LG Venus VX8800 will not cost you more than the original, it’s $199.99 after rebates and 2-yr. agreement.

The Chocolate craze has not dissipated. This is confirmed by LG’s latest release. Yep, it’s the old LG Chocolate VX8500 but now in two very intriguing colors.
Both the silver and lilac LG Chocolates will be available under different circumstances. The less “intriguing” color, the silver will be sold pay-as-you-go thru Phones4U. The lilac Chocolate will be an offering of Carphone Warehouse both as pay-as-you-go and with contract.
I’d play it safe and go for the silver one myself but lilac is such a mysterious color, I might not be able to help myself. Only in the UK.

LG Electronics unveiled the long-awaited Korean edition of its Viewty phone, which was previously launched in Europe in October.
The Viewty is LG's first high-tech category phone, in contrast to the company's popular Black Label Series of design-focused handsets with emotional appeal. Armed with a 5.0-megapixel camera with certified Schneider-Kreuznach lens and manual focus, this full touch screen camera phone is for the serious photographer. ISO800, SmartLight and Image Stabilizer help users take images in low light or while moving. However, one of the Viewty's unique features is the ability to play video at one-fourth normal speed, thanks to is high-speed 120fps video recording function.
Additionally, handwriting editing and drawing function allows consumers to add a creative touch to images directly through the 3-inch LCD touch screen. Finally, users can share their creative work by directly uploading it to the mobile edition of Cyworld, the Korean equivalent of Facebook. For the global version of the phone, the LG KU990, uploads can go directly to YouTube.
The Korean edition of the LG Viewty comes in three models of 7.2-Mbps 3G phone, respectively tailored to all three major Korean network service providers: ...
Gizmodo reviews the LG Voyager: “The LG Voyager is a powerful thing, ambitious in that it combines much of what we like about both the iPhone and the BlackBerry into a single compact system. But the LG Voyager has flaws (it’s slightly chunky, the Touchscreen isn’t very responsive) that make it hard for me to give the highest marks, especially with an after-rebate price tag of $300.
The LG Voyager is compatible with Verizon’s V Cast Mobile TV service—provided it’s available in your area. (When we try to tune in, we get an error saying “No V Cast Mobile TV Signal.”) Chronic text-messagers will be excited about the easy-access messaging; call me old-fashioned but I only wish access to e-mail were as straightforward and integrated.
In the end you have a lot of powerful hardware working towards a not all-together clear objective with the LG Voyager. I like a lot of what I see, and to further the iPhone comparison, it would be nice to see Verizon and LG follow suit and update the LG Voyager software, but I am not sure that’s in the cards. To be worth $300 and the large sums of money you will spend each month ...
Wirefly reviews the LG CU515: “The LG CU515 is the next update to the popular LG CU500-series phones for AT&T. Now with support for AT&T Push-to-talk walkie-talkie services, a sleeker shape and more mobile entertainment options like MobiTV and Music ID, the LG CU515 is sure to be a best-seller. The handset still packs in stereo Bluetooth, a music player, broadband data speed, a 1.3 camera/camcorder and an expandable memory card slot making the LG CU515 a great mobile entertainment phone for the price.”

LG Rumor review by MobileBurn: “The LG Rumor is that of a quality device. The slide mechanism feels solid and the materials used convey a feeling of quality. I came away from the LG Rumor being mainly impressed with its effectiveness as an e-mail and messaging device, especially considering that it’s only a pinch larger than the typical candy bar phone. Some may not be able to deal with the LG Rumor’s lack of mobile broadband, but not everybody is ready to take the plunge into that level of service. Not only that, but with a $50 rebate and a 2 year contract the handset will only set you back $79, making it a very affordable choice.
With regards to LG Rumor’s multimedia, kudos must be given to LG for supporting the larger 4 gigabyte microSD cards, and the odd placement for the dedicated camera shutter key, although unfortunate, is hardly a deal breaker. However, the lack of EV-DO functionality may send some looking at other devices with more comprehensive connectivity.
If you come to the LG Rumor wanting an assortment of ways to compose text messages and e-mails, and otherwise keep in touch, the phone will not disappoint. Therefore, I confidently ...
The LG-LB3300 has the looks of Chocolate with an big touch wheel in the middle that gives you the impression that it could double as a speaker. The specs of this new LG phone includes a 2-inch screen, 2.0 MP camera, Bluetooth A2DP and a DMB tuner. Koreans are lucky to have this phone available to them for Christmas because this is not your ordinary MP3 player phone. At the heart is the Rhapsody software that allows it to sync with a PC and play Rhapsody play lists on the go.
Rhapsody is an online Internet radio service with an innovative customizable stations that predicts the kind of music you like. The more you use Rhapsody, the better the software gets at predicting your musical needs. On board is 1GB of memory but this can be expanded to 4GB. The A2DP support is something special as well allowing two listeners at the same time. Intrigued, click the link for the press release.

Cnet reviews the Virgin Mobile LG Aloha: “The LG Aloha for Virgin Mobile is so devoid of outside features that even an external display and a volume rocker are absent. Normally, we’re not fond of flip phones that have no external displays. While we realize that its lack of a screen helps account for the Virgin Mobile LG Aloha’s low price, we still miss being able to check a caller’s identity without opening the handset. That leaves just a headset jack on the left spine, a charger port on the LG Aloha’s bottom end, and a small red light that shows through the front flap. It blinks to let you know the Virgin Mobile LG Aloha is on, but you can turn the light off if you prefer.
The good: The handset is a simple, user-friendly phone with voice dialing.
The bad: The Virgin Mobile LG Aloha’s design feels somewhat cheap, and the phone’s call quality wasn’t reliable. Also, it lacks an external display and external volume buttons.
The bottom line: The Aloha is a functional, basic phone, but there are better such handsets in Virgin Mobile’s lineup.”

The AT&T LG Shine has already gone 3G, now it’s time for the Korean bestseller to go 3.5G. This is good news for AT&T subscriber who will have a choice of fashion phone that supports not only 3G speeds but 3.6Mbps HSDPA. Earlier, Rogers announced the same LG Shine with HSPA support.
Over 5 million units of the LG Shine has been bought around the world. LG has recently announced a titanium-color version, bringing a darker shade to the metallic casing.
The HSDPA Shine Slider is the same LG Shine with a scroll wheel, mirror screen and 2.0 MP camera.
Cnet reviews the Verizon LG VX8550 Chocolate: “The Verizon LG VX8550 Chocolate is definitely a luscious-looking handset, with a design that doesn’t stray too far from the original. It retains that familiar chocolate bar shape; a rectangular chassis clad in a glossy surface and silver accents reminiscent of candy wrapping. At 3.85 inches tall by 1.87 inches wide by 0.67 inch thick, the LG VX8550 Chocolate’s a little taller and wider than the original Chocolate, but not by much. You slide the phone open by pushing the bottom of the phone, which can be done easily with one hand. The slider mechanism moves up and down easily, and the phone feels pretty solid in the hand and when held next to the ear. The phone’s glossy exterior does make it really prone to fingerprint smudges however.
The good: The Verizon LG VX8550 Chocolate has a much improved design over the original Chocolate, with a mechanical scroll wheel that has a trace motion light, a touch pad that vibrates, and an overall sleeker look. The LG VX8550 has an impressive multimedia feature set that includes a megapixel camera, a music player, and access to Verizon’s V Cast ...
Cnet reviews the LG VX8350: “The LG VX8350 is now in a smooth, pebble-like shape with soft curves all around. Measuring 3.73 inches by 1.97 inches by 0.87 inch, the LG VX8350 is a joy to hold in the hand due to its curvy design, and it’s also quite lightweight at 3.3 ounces. The overall design is far more ergonomic than its predecessor, with a much more streamlined and stylish appearance.
The good: The LG VX8350 has a stylish and curvy design, external music player controls, and a microSD card slot. Its robust feature set includes a megapixel camera, EV-DO support, stereo Bluetooth, and more. Performance was excellent as well.
The bad: The LG VX8350’s camera lacks a flash, and its stereo speakers are located in the back of the phone.
The bottom line: The handset is an excellent multimedia phone that’s compact as well as powerful.”

Addicts of Activision's Guitar Hero console game will no longer be confined to fretting their faux guitar in the living room, game room, or basement. Soon they'll be able to play from their mobile phone.
Thanks to Hands-On Mobile, a mobile games company from San Diego, I got to test my rhythm-matching mettle with Guitar Hero Mobile on a slick LG VX9400.
The first thing you'll notice about Guitar Hero Mobile is how familiar it feels; just like the console game's little cousin ought. Being able to seamlessly hop into the popular rock-star universe is no coincidence. Hands-On Mobile worked closely with Activision to import songs, graphics, characters, and gameplay from Guitar Hero editions II and III. Players of the mobile version choose from two characters, Axel Steel or Judy Nails, and at first have a nonchoice of a Les Paul guitar. Stellar guitar skills unlock three Gibsons, vetted by Gibson itself....

A LetsTalk user reviews the AT&T LG Shine: “The AT&T LG Shine is like the iPhone for the simpler minded. It’s flashy but easy to understand. The camera is such a plus. Your phone can stay closed and you use a little side button and it basically transformed itself into a little hand held camera. The AT&T LG Shine is amazing.”

The LG Chocolate VX8550 Blue Ice has the same features as the other Chocolates VX8550, but comes in a new color. The model now has 4 design colors - Original Black, Black Cherry, Blue Mint and Blue Ice.”
