[Continue reading GSM 850 Unlocked for the HTC Touch Diamond]With a similar hardware or software between the HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Victor, a few Taiwan users who bought the Victor are annoyed by the A-GPS support. According to the HTC in a letter replied to them, “With regards to your inquiry, please kindly be informed that HTC sells different specifications products in different shipping locations. We’ve confirmed that Touch Victor doesn’t support A-GPS function”.

According to another HTC engineer in HTC Care center in Taiwan, the HTC Victor’s hardware does support A-GPS, but was disabled by the firmware released in Taiwan. Perhaps a quick fix of new firmware by the clever folks at xda-developer will get the A-GPS activated on HTC Victor?
Note that the T-Mobile Compact IV is actually the HTC Victor, anyone can confirm if it does have A-GPS?

Opera has just released their new Opera Mobile 9.5 today. The mobile browser is in beta version and is only availablel for Windows Mobile 5 or Windows Mobile 6 pocket pc phone with touch screen. Non-touch screen Windows Mobile will be supported but there isn’t a confirmed date from Opera.

You can download the beta version here. The beta version is available with the following known issues according to the download page.
Suppose to be available today (July 15th), according to the company announcement on their blog, Fhauge from Opera Blog has posted another update on their blog that the beta release of Opera Mobile 9.5 will be delayed to July 17th. The engineers are working on fixing some bugs, as well as a testing process to make sure a better bug-free version.

From the company blog,
As you can imagine, we encountered a few bugs last week that we needed to fix before we launch. Our engineering team worked through the weekend to fix the bugs. Even though our release is a beta, we’d rather spend the extra time to fix them, thus giving you a better experience. The fixes are almost complete now, but we need two more days to run the build through our quality assurance testing. The new launch date is now set for the 17th.
We’re disappointed to delay, but fixing these bugs will improve the experience with our beta and let you fully test the browser.
While Opera Mobile is a commercial version, you can also take a look at the free Opera Mini- a nice java version of internet browser.

Got too much information on your TouchFlo 3D? sushilange from xda-developer has made and released his TouchFlo 3D configuration tool so that you can customize your HTC Touch Diamond interface.

With the latest 0.4 version, you can arrange the Tabs’ order, or even hide the tab that you do not need it. The configuration tool also comes with some system tweak which were introduced previously in other discussion threads.
Note that although you can hide the TouchFlo 3D tabs, the author is not sure if you can hide all the tabs on the interface. Grab the software in CAB file from the link below.

New Sprint HTC Touch Diamond photos are available. The Sprint HTC Touch Diamond has been rumored about for months now, so it’s not exactly a surprise to see these photos. Of course, the images are a bit blurry, but what can you expect from pre-release photos? On the image, you can see the TouchFLO 3D interface (first made available on the GSM version). However, Sprint will of course add their own applications/icons to the interface as well.
As of now, the Sprint HTC Touch Diamond has not passed through the FCC’s website, although that doesn’t mean the handset couldn’t release soon. In fact, it’s rumored to release before the HTC Touch Pro. Check back soon for more details on the Sprint HTC Touch Diamond phone.

The HTC Touch Pro CDMA just passed through the FCC. The HTC Touch Pro has been rumored about for quite some time now, and is most likely headed for Sprint & Verizon (more to follow, I’m sure). Of course, the main attraction to this phone is decent-sized touch screen.
The HTC Touch Pro CDMA is actually very similar to the just released HTC Touch Diamond, although this new phone will have a sliding keyboard as well. The handset is code-named the Rafael, although don’t expect any carrier to keep that name. Specs on the new HTC Touch Pro CDMA will include: Windows Mobile Professional with side-sliding QWERTY keypad, VGA display, EV-DO Rev. A, GPS, 3-Megapixel camera and next generation TouchFLO.
Windows Mobile smartphone users will soon be able to install/buy the new Opera Mobile 9.5 for their mobile browsing. First beta version of the new version will be available on July 15th this month.
