The upcoming HTC Touch Diamond is now featured at the FCC site.
This could mean that the U.S. release is not far away from now, or is it? We'll see, but it would be a shame if this beauty won't make it stateside, after all this is the best HTC smartphone yet (IMHO).
While you wa...

Here is a quick hands on video on the new HTC TouchFLO 3D UI, overall the transition between the menu is pretty impressive, although we still can see some lagging on the Windows Mobile. The most funny part is when the HTC staff accidentally jump out from the TouchFLO to the original Windows Mobile interface, someone is actually screaming.

HTC, being a Windows Mobile phone, does not have the same marketing clout as Apple, but they have come up with the most impressive new handset this year. The HTC Diamond boasts a very snazzy user interface using their proprietary TouchFLO on a Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system.
The screen is VGA and is undoubtedly the most impressive screen resolution on a cellphone to date. The user interface, dubbed TouchFLO 3D is really quite impressive. You will have a good look at it below. Other features have not been announced and shipping date will not be soon enough for new HTC fans. And, oh, the phone will come out first in Europe.

HTC has uploaded tons of videos on YouTube for its new TouchFLO 3D user interface. Running Windows Mobile 6.1 on a VGA touchscreen, HTC have developed a new, three-dimensional version of their GUI overlay, called TouchFLO 3D. This offers full homescreen access to all the applications and device status, as well as CoverFlow-style media browsing and rich icon animation.

HTC today announced the Touch Diamond, their latest smartphone and an attempt by the company to wrest back the mobile internet crown from Apple’s iPhone.

HTC haven’t skimped on the connectivity, either. The Touch Diamond has 7.2Mbps HSDPA and HSUPA for super-fast uploads and downloads. That will be put to good use in the re-skinned Opera 9 browser, which HTC will be including in the smartphone’s ROM. In a demonstration today, HTC execs showed the browser zooming and reflowing text with a simple tap, as well as manually controlling the zoom level with the touch-sensitive scroll wheel (that doubles as the D-pad). The Touch Diamond also features an accelerometer, such as found in the iPhone, which can recognise which way up the handset is being held and orient the screen accordingly.

The company is calling the smartphone their “Usable Mobile Internet” device. It also ...

The HTC Diamond is almost here. New HTC Diamond photos and specs were leaked by an Italian site, revealing the new, sleek smartphone. It’s a beautiful black color with a diamond shaped pattern on the back side to remind us of it’s name (I guess).
The HTC Diamond specs are said to include: “global GSM/3G (HSDPA 7.2Mbps) Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional smartphone with 2.8″ VGA display, 3-megapixel camera and additional VGA one for video calling. The internal memory is 4GB with microSD slot for expansion, thechipset is Qualcomm MSM7201 with processor running at 528 MHz and it features Bluetooth v2.0, WiFi, aGPS and FM radio.” Check back soon for more HTC Diamond details.

The purported HTC Touch Diamond
(Credit: Engadget Mobile)Fact: HTC will hold a press conference in London tomorrow (May 6) to make an announcement that will highlight the "next wave of HTC innovation." Rumor: the company is expected to introduce the HTC Touch Diamond, the next-gen HTC Touch, as well ...

Information has been leaked that May 6th may be the date that the world will see the first smartphone handset that will be powered by the Google Android operating system. The Dream, as it is called, will be released by HTC who is hosting an event in London which is where we believe the Dream will be making its debut. In the past, Windows Mobile has been the main operating system for their devices, so when we heard the logo for the event, “Witness the next wave of HTC Innovation,” everyone began expecting something big that will include Google Android.
Since HTC has officially announced that handsets featuring Google Android based operating systems will be ready in mid-2008. The event in London would certainly fit this time frame, so we will not be surprised to greet Google Android on the scene.
The Dream will come fully loaded with features such as email and texting abilities as well as internet access to applications such as a browser that can be run along with other programs in the background of the handset and direct access to YouTube. The design of the phone features a swiveling screen that ...
All we have seen until now are grainy spy shots of the HTC Diamond. Now, we have some images that are quite a bit better. These images were revealed today, but they are not the only surprise. In addition to the beautiful images, we now have a rumored feature list. It is important to remember these are not official, but are looking pretty solid.

This device brings some serious features to the table. For multi media, this thing packs a 2.8 inch VGA screen, 3.2 megapixel camera, and FM radio. It is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1, and also packs a 528MHz CPU to get things done. There is a option for MicroSD expansion, but if that is not your thing, it has 4GB of memory built right in. To stay connected, you get quad band GSM, HSDPA 7.6mbps, and WiFi. All the high speed you can handle, is at your finger tips. This thing is very thin, at only 10.7mm.
There are a few unconfirmed features on this device. It has been rumored there is a accelerometer in the device. Also, there is a possible QWERTY. To know for sure, we are just going to have ...
First heard as early as one year ago, the HTC Census revisit the FCC approval for Harris. Not for consumer though, the windows mobile smartphone will support EVDO and WiFi connection to send/receive data with no voice call capability.

According to a recent article on popsci , numbers of technical problems have caused the Census project to be terminated which suppose to go live on 2010.

Today we present specifications for three yet unannounced, but highly anticipated HTC smartphones - HTC Touch Pro (Raphael), HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Dual Pro (Titanium).
Hopefully, atleast one of them will be released on May 6rth.

The HTC Mogul has the potential to be a very useful phone/PDA. That being said, the HTC Mogul is full of disappointments.
The HTC Diamond is coming soon. The HTC Diamond “is expected to be a 3G Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone which has a VGA touchscreen, WiFi and a 3-megapixel camera. Probably there will be both GSM and CDMA variants.”
HTC’s financial executive mentioned that the HTC Diamond will be their big cell phone in 2008 and will increase their revenue by 20%. The first HTC Android phone is also expected to release later this year, so this will be an interesting time for the company. Hopefully they do release a North American HTC Diamond in the near future.
Reported by taipeitimes on Sunday, HTC will reveal a new HTC Touch phone next month, according to a HTC staff. The new HTC Touch phone is yet to receive a certification (FCC approval?), and is expected to be released in major operators worldwide.

So what would be the exact date then? It’s actually not far from today. Early this month HTC has announced a special event on 6th May, which is just about 1 week later. It is not sure that how many new devices will be announced, would the leaked pictureabove the upcoming new smartphone?

Alltel and HTC have issued a system update for the HTC Touch smartphone that will upgrade its EV-DO Rev. 0 radio to Rev. A, which allows for faster download and upload speeds. The update will also improve Bluetooth performance and will add the ability to receiv...
[Continue reading Alltel's HTC Touch gets a Firmware Update: EV-DO Rev. A Radio]A while back I decided it was time to update the look of the website. It's looking a bit dated, and there are a number of new things that we want to do with it that the current design just won't allow for. One of the ideas that we had for the new site was what we are calling the BrowserBar, that new strip across the top of the main section of the home page that let's you quickly see all of the latest phones. In preparation for the new templates for the site, we coded that up and I decided I might as well toss it in now, rather than waiting.
So if you are having any trouble with the top of the home page, try doing a refresh/reload of the page (optionally while holding down the shift key). That should fix things up.
In other news, we have a lot of reviews coming up. We've got Motorola's Z9 and Q9c (with Windows Mobile 6.1), Samsung's u900 Soul and i620 (in a cute white scheme), the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 with T-Mobile's @Home support, the Sony Ericsson K850, and HTC's Touch Cruise - all lined up and ...
Cnet reviews the Verizon XV6900: “The Verizon XV6900 will certainly wow your friends and onlookers. Forgoing the usual black, the XV6900 comes in a striking white color, which, when combined with the handset’s sleek, smooth pebble-like look, makes it a real stunner. The Verizon red that accents some of the icons on the user interface is quite eye-catching, as well. However, one thing that you lose is the soft-touch finish, so the handset is a bit slick.
The good: The Verizon XV6900 is an attractive and compact smartphone with a cool touch interface. It’s also equipped with Bluetooth, EV-DO, Windows Mobile 6, and a 2-megapixel camera.
The bad: The XV6900 lacks Wi-Fi, and unlike the Sprint HTC Touch, Verizon doesn’t offer its entertainment services or preloaded instant-messaging clients on the device.
The bottom line: Verizon XV6900 is a stunning smartphone with a cool touch interface and generally good performance, but the Sprint version offers a slightly better value for your money.”

A new Alltel HTC Touch ROM update is now available. The Alltel HTC Touch Rom update adds EV-DO Rev. A speeds along with a few extra bonus updates. The EV-DO Rev. A speeds will make your data connections much speedier than what’s currently available.
Besides the EV-DO Rev. A speeds, the Alltel HTC Touch ROM update includes some Bluetooth fixes and adds the ability to receive video messages. All in all, a spectacular upgrade - way to go Alltel. Now, when are Sprint & Verizon going to do the same? To get the Alltel HTC Touch ROM update just follow the instructions on your Touch’s upgrade folder.
The HTC Touch has been in the market (outside the US) before Apple shipped a single iPhone. While everyone was talking rivalry then between the Windows Mobile device with 3D scrolling and the iPhone, that talk has dwindled into the subtlest of whispers. Then HTC released this fabulous commercial “Set Your Fingers Free” and we’re talking rivalry again. Frankly, the HTC Touch loos like an old phone net to Apple but the ad helped freshen the impression a bit for American consumers… at least HTC hopes so.

Gizmodo reviews the Verizon HTC XV6900: “The Verizon HTC XV6900 touchscreen should be way more responsive. You’ve gotta actually put some weight behind your pokes, or maddened multi-tapping will be the order of the day. Fingernails seem to work better than fleshy nubs.
Verizon’s media toys, like V Cast mobile TV are still MIA on the Verizon HTC XV6900. The EV-DO Rev. A’s blazing speeds are sweet, but unfortunately the browser doesn’t match the awesomeness of the pipe.
The Verizon HTC XV6900’s size, shape and weight are great, but that doesn’t exactly make up for the rest. Touch at your own risk.

[Continue reading FCC Approves the HTC NEON300 aka HTC Touch Dual]Engadget has a little tips on the the unknown HTC smartphone we posted yesterday. Apparently it is likely the MDA compact IV, which is made for T-Mobile. The MDA compact IV is not announced yet too, but Engadget snapped the dummy phone pictures at a event last month.

The T-Mobile MDA compact IV will be running the new Windows Mobile 6.1, it will support HSDPA connection, come with VGA display scree, integrate GPS, WiFi and built in 4GB storage space. The MDA compact IV is exclusive for T-Mobile, other countries might see it in HTC branding.
You can refer to the unknown HTC devices again from the picture below. While the first unknown HTC smartphone at the lower row is still unknown, it does have a similar hardware design as the MDA compact IV other than the extra QWERTY sliding keyboard.
