The HTC Touch Dual is now on sale at Best Buy. The HTC Touch Dual is a new slider phone that also has a touchscreen (as the name suggests). It won’t come cheap, at $549.99 unlocked, however it is a pretty well-endowed cell phone. There’s always the possibility of a US carrier picking this one up as well, which would bring down the costs quite a bit.
The HTC Touch Dual features include: standard numeric keypad, lacks WiFi but features 3G HSDPA 3.6mbps, Windows Mobile 6.1 & has a second generation TouchFLO interface. The HTC Touch Dual is a pretty decent cell phone overall - a little pricey, but still worth the money.
The Rogers HTC Shift X9501 is now on sale. The Rogers HTC Shift X9501 is a brand new UMPC, running the full Windows Vista Business Edition OS. In other words, is basically an Internet-ready small laptop. While it won’t come cheap, CAD $1600 on 3 year contract, it’s definitely got some features to back up the big price tag.
The Rogers HTC Shift X9501 features will include: “SnapVUE technology, which allows the user to load a basic operating system, to check emails, messages, and contacts without the need to boot the heavier Windows system, thus helping to improve the battery life. Shift features a 7” touch sensitive screen, 40 GB of storage, a full QWERTY keyboard and a touch pad. As it has a quad-band GSM and tri-band HSDPA receiver, it can work worldwide.” Unfortunately, the Rogers HTC Shift X9501 won’t replace your cell phone, and I’m sure you wouldn’t want to hold it up to your ear for long periods of time anyway.

Rogers Wireless has launched the HTC Shift in Canada.
This high-end UMPC is availabe for $1,599.99 on a 3-year contract on minimum $50 Flex Rate Data Plan. Here are some of the device's main characteristics:
7" "slide-n-tilt" touchscreen; 40GB hard drive; Wi-Fi; Quad-band (850... [Continue reading HTC Shift UMPC Launched in Canada by Rogers]

Today, HTC announced that the Touch Dual will be available unlocked at Best Buy locations and online beginning this weekend. It will cost $549.
MobileReview reviews the HTC Diamond: “The HTC Diamond gets the company as close to the concept of a mass-market Windows Mobile powered device as they have never been before. The truth is, there aren’t that many factors that may hinder the cell phone’s success. Among them are a quite hefty price tag and HTC being a relatively unknown brand (the average user will never put it in a league with Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Samsung). As for the rest, the HTC Diamond is free of almost all constraints and limitations that hampered its predecessors.
The HTC Diamond is a mixed bag design-wise, but it represents a logical leap forward in all other departments, aimed to hit the mass-market hard and appeal the users outside the circle of Windows Mobile specialists.”

DigitalBurn reviews the HTC X7510 Advantage: “The HTC X7510 Advantage is not likely to be my every day device, due to its size, but I can certainly see where it would be great on business trips where I don’t need a laptop to do photo processing. A device like the HTC X7510 Advantage can offer me enough computing power to cover live press events and take care of issues back at the home office without the extra weight and bulk of a laptop. But with a price tag of well over US$1000, I feel few people are going to be willing to drop the required coin to pick up one of these gadgets. Add to that the fact that the device can not be sold in the U.S. due to some Qualcomm chipset issues, and well, it doesn’t look like you’ll be seeing an HTC X7510 Advantage on every street corner any time soon. But regardless, the HTC X7510 Advantage is one of my favorite devices that have crossed my desk so far this year. It’s very different, maybe even a bit odd, but it is very cool none the less.”

India, one of the most populous countries in the world, is full of Nokia fans. This they have in common in Chine. But while the Chinese love their iPhone clones, India is a fan of Windows Mobile. Why else would HTC place second in India’s smartphone market? Can’t be the form factor. Anyway, Nokia’s market share is effectively 90 % and HTC, along with RIM, Sony Ericsson and Motorola have to share the remaining 10%

The HTC Touch Diamond promises to be one of the most potent iPhone killers of 2008. Apple rivals are actually getting good at iPhone killing and the Touch Diamond is a well-crafted piece in the genre. The packaging of a cellphone, as you may well know, is a significant part of the mobile experience. The Touch Diamond comes in a unique pyramid-shaped package… did we dare say Apple-like?

Here is a quick hands on video on the new HTC TouchFLO 3D UI, overall the transition between the menu is pretty impressive, although we still can see some lagging on the Windows Mobile. The most funny part is when the HTC staff accidentally jump out from the TouchFLO to the original Windows Mobile interface, someone is actually screaming.

HTC, being a Windows Mobile phone, does not have the same marketing clout as Apple, but they have come up with the most impressive new handset this year. The HTC Diamond boasts a very snazzy user interface using their proprietary TouchFLO on a Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system.
The screen is VGA and is undoubtedly the most impressive screen resolution on a cellphone to date. The user interface, dubbed TouchFLO 3D is really quite impressive. You will have a good look at it below. Other features have not been announced and shipping date will not be soon enough for new HTC fans. And, oh, the phone will come out first in Europe.
