While you may have seen the HTC Dream photo or the prototype demonstration video, here is another little bit of the info made available by FCC. In one of the document, the FCC have noted the width and length of the upcoming HTC Dream phone in 55 x 115 mm, that is slightly smaller than iPhone 3G or slightly bigger than HTC Touch Diamond.

T-Mobile is said to be preparing an announcement in September and will start selling the Android phone in October. The model for T-Mobile will be called T-Mobile G1 and comes with QWERTY keyboard, trackball, built in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G data connection.

Our friends at FCC are nice enough to put an approval stamp on the HTC Dream, the first Gphone that is going to run on Google’s Android operating system. It is confirmed that the Dream moniker got a jog ball, Wi-Fi and it’s running on the 850/1700/1900MHz bands. Please stay tuned for more updates.

Telus has announced the launched of the HTC Touch Diamond last week. The company plan to start selling it from August 14 this week. The CDMA version is simiar to HTC Victor with a more rounded edge. Same as other Touch Diamond family, it will also gets the pre-installed Opera mobile browser, 2.8-inch VGA display screen, 4GB internal memory, WiFi and GPS.

Is this what we will see for the first Android phone from HTC? A blur video on EverythingDream.com has revealed more hardware design of the HTC Dream, which you see it in black prevously. The HTC Dream has a sliding display screen so that you can use the Qwerty keyboard instead of the touch screen.

Although analyst Trip Chowdhry of Global Equities Research has reported a possible delay of Android phone to Q1 2009, digitimes has already got the confirmation from HTC’s CFO Hui-ming Cheng that they are on track for Q4 launches. HTC has sent out another notice in email, stating that the Android development is still on schedule, and will be ready by Q4 this year.

HTC has just made changes on their phone support page this week, removing the need of a HTC eClub account for software download like ROM upgrade software. While you do not need to register an account to download the software, you need to key in your smartphone serial number on the download page.

This is much better than previous implementation, you can now read what is available for your smartphone and download it directly without registration. The changes is applied to all support pages for different regions and countries.

Digitimes has confirmed that HTC will start to ship the Android-based phone in Q4 this year. According to the company CFO Hui-ming Cheng, HTC has already got its Touch Diamond smartphone on sale in more than 30 countries since its first launches in June.

Released on July 23rd, the new HTC Touch Diamond rom (with version 1.93.831.1 WWE) has fixed severals bugs and improved TouchFLO 3D tab switching and movement speed. More importantly for some users, the hidden GSM 850 band will be also activated through the firmware updates.
