The BlackBerry Bold smartphone’s support for tri-band HSDPA and enterprise-grade Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g) networks and its next-generation 624 MHz mobile processor make short work of downloading email attachments, streaming video or rendering web pages. It comes with the renowned BlackBerry productivity applications, including phone, email, messaging, organizer and browser, and works with thousands of mobile business and lifestyle applications. Research in Motion (RIM) and Thomson Reuters today announced plans to launch the BlackBerry Partners Fund, a $150 million venture capital fund, to invest in mobile applications and services for the RIM's BlackBerry platform and other mobile platforms.

The fund will be co-managed by JLA Ventures and RBC Venture Partners, the Royal Bank of Canada's venture capital arm.

"The mobile world has evolved well beyond phone calls and simple messaging to require more empowering and liberating solutions that connect people to everything that matters most to them, wherever and whenever they want," said Jim Balsillie, Co-CEO, Research In Motion. "RIM, RBC and Thomson Reuters share the common belief that mobile applications and services will propel the industry forward and the BlackBerry Partners Fund is being formed to help fuel innovation and activity in the mobile ecosystem."

The creation of the fund comes on the heels Apple's recently announced iFund, a $100 million cash pool launched in partnership with Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers to fund applications for BlackBerry rival iPhone.

The BlackBerry Partners Fund is not restricted to investments of BlackBerry platform application and services.

BlackBerry 9000 BoldThe BlackBerry 9000 Bold is almost here. The BlackBerry 9000 Bold is the newest member from RIM’s lineup, which has a great feature-set. RIM recently named the phone “Bold”, I guess because of it’s departure from their normal, run-of-the-mill handsets.

The BlackBerry 9000 Bold will feature: Quad-band GPRS/EDGE, microSD slot, A-GPS, 2 megapixel camera, WiFi, HVGA Color LCD display, OS 4.6 & HSDPA. For now, the BlackBerry 9000 Bold name is still tentative - who knows what RIM will finally end up calling this thing. More details coming soon.

Verizon BlackBerry Curve 8330PhoneScoop user reviews the Verizon BlackBerry Curve 8330: “The Verizon BlackBerry Curve 8330’s reception has been amongst the best that I’ve ever used. Call quality and clarity had been wonderful, as is the earpiece, and speakerphone. The music player has good and loud volume for rintones, songs, and videos. The Verizon BlackBerry Curve 8330 even organizes the music into album/artist.

The Verizon BlackBerry Curve 8330 does absolutely everything well. It syncs up nicely to backup/restore your info, sync with outlook, transfer files, play music and videos, and navigate with the smooth trackball, and just works extremely well as a phone. The 3G tethering has been great too. I see that it’s gonna be hard, but I’m searching for something negative to say about this phone.”

CRM of BlackBerry

Two of the world’s top mobile product and software companies are teaming up to bring new innovations to their brands of cell phones. SAP and RIM are joining forces to offer users SAP software on the RIM BlackBerry. The first of these programs to be offered for the BlackBerry is SAP’s CRM application, which is a customer relationship program. They are hoping that the software will be available to users within a few months.

SAP’s Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM) is an application designed especially for individuals in marketing, sales, and service industries. The application allows users to access support for customer-facing business processes. These applications allow users to focus on their strategies in relation to customer-driven growth of the industry. Customers will be pleased with these options and businesses will be pleased with the customers’ reactions.

The SAP CRM will allows salespeople to use the application along with BlackBerry’s e-mail, address book, and calendar applications. BlackBerry 9000CrackBerry reviews the BlackBerry 9000: “The BlackBerry 9000 has a familiar form factor. Within the BlackBerry family, I’d argue it most closely resembles the BlackBerry 8800 Series – both in terms of physical dimensions and general appearance, with the BlackBerry 9000 delivering an overall sleeker and more modern package.

The BlackBerry 9000 features a full-QWERTY keyboard that is similar to that of the 8800 Series, standard issue trackball, and oversized central navigation/phone buttons which are smooth, look great and seem pretty easy to locate and press. Around the perimeter of the device the BlackBerry 9000 features left and right side convenience keys, volume controls and mute/standby button. Generally speaking, the phone feels solidly built, deceptively light for its size.

After using the BlackBerry 9000 for only a few hours, it’s beginning to feel quite natural. And for that little bit the 9000 does give up in terms of feel, when it comes to hardware and features it seems the BlackBerry 9000 will leaves every other BlackBerry made to date in the dust.”

Verizon-BlackBerry-8330There’s a BlackBerry prettier than Verizon’s red 8830 and it’s the Curve 8330. I know the numbers are confusing, but it would help to note that this is a Curve and it’s only 20 away from the 8310.

No WiFi yet on this BlackBerry but it does have GPS dubbed VZ Navigator. If you want to know more details about how old the specifications of the 8330, go to our handset model page. Sprint will get their own in mid-May, but for people who cannot wait, they can troupe to Verizon right now and get a two-year contract from Verizon after handing $219 with a $50 rebate soon after.

BlackBerry service shutdownWhen people say Crackberry, it usually conjures up images of BlackBerry cellphones and owners with heads bent tapping on the keys with no end in sight. What people do not talk about is the BlackBerry service, a software package developed by RIM for enterprise users. To make a long story short, there have been reports of service interruptions once again.

Bad for business? You bet. T-Mobile and Bell mobility were hit. Apparently, it was planned and the service had a schedule to resume some hours ago. Meanwhile complaints have continued to pour in after the scheduled resumption. Though service has since gone back to normal, we can’t help but face the possibility that this may become a regular thing for BlackBerry users. The device has reached a point of popularity that puts the BlackBerry service in a constant expectation of a crash.

What do you think? What should RIM do?
