Asus P527 Review - Cnet

Apr 16, 2008 Filed under: Asus

Asus P527Cnet reviews the Asus P527: “The Asus P527 is an amazingly compact smartphone. It measures 4.4 inches tall by 2.2 inches wide by 0.6 inch deep and weighs 4.5 ounces. This makes it look and feel like a regular cell phone, and you’ll be able to comfortably slip it into a pants pocket. The overall shape of the Asus P527 reminded us of the Sony Ericsson P1i, but it has a brushed aluminum face that’s attractive, and there’s a soft-touch finish on the back that makes the handset easy to grip.

The good: The Asus P527 offers a lot of features in a compact design, including GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a 2-megapixel camera. The Windows Mobile 6 smartphone also comes loaded with a handful of extra utilities for the mobile professional.

The bad: The cell phone is excruciatingly slow in performance, and it lacks 3G support. It’s also expensive.

The bottom line: The Asus P527 Windows Mobile smartphone may offer a ton of features and an attractive design but that’s all canceled out by its frustratingly slow performance.”

asus eee pc bigger screenI know this is a blog about handsets, but Eee PC is big news and Eee PC woth touch screen is even bigger news. For those of you who haven’t heard of the Eee PC, it is a sub-notebook manufactured by Asus. This laptop is so small it only has a 7-inch screen and a keyboard the size of a big hand. Other notable features include an SSD drive instead of a hard-disk drive. The SSD besides making the laptop faster also makes shock-proof. You’ll seldom lose data if you dropt this laptopn unlike laptops with HDD. To have an idea how durable the Eee PC is, go to this link. The Asus is also cheap starting from $299. It gets better, because according to industry analysts, it will only take Asus $10 more to add a touch sensitive screen. If the keyboard feels too cramped, a touch screen can be an important option. The Asus will also get larger, adding another inch or so of screen space. Hopefully, the price remains at Eee levels.

We’ll keep you informed just stay tuned.

Asus P527 Review - MobileBurn

Mar 6, 2008 Filed under: Asus

Asus P527MobileBurn reviews the Asus P527: “The Asus P527 is very modern looking, has an outstanding feature set that includes GPS and an auto-focus camera, and offers something that few Windows Mobile touchscreen devices do - a traditional phone keypad.

The Asus P527 does have a few shortcomings, though. A lack of 3G support is sure to be a turn-off for road warriors, and the joystick doesn’t always behave the way it should.
